Conservatives and moderates: It's time to stop giving to your alma mater
Fox News ^ | August 12, 2017 | Marissa Streit

Many of our country’s most cherished institutions of higher learning are shadows of what they once were. And if you’re a college graduate, that probably includes your alma mater.

A survey by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA found that a staggering 60 percent of university professors identified as “liberal” or “far-left” in 2014 – up from 42 percent in 1990. But interviews conducted in 17 separate Gallup polls in 2016 that found that 70 percent of Americans consider themselves either conservative (36 percent) or moderate (34 percent).

In colleges across the country, far-left professors now dominate disciplines like English literature, sociology, and history. Few have anything positive to say about capitalism, the Constitution or the United States in general.

As a result, many colleges have become ground zero for propagating every extreme idea the far left can imagine. And they want your money to help them do it. Lots of it.

To help them spread propaganda, colleges are regularly sending out fundraising letters and emails. From time to time, you may have donated or even made your gift as a regular monthly contribution. Some alumni donate small (or not-so-small) fortunes and have buildings named after them.

Wherever you find yourself on the continuum of funding university-sponsored indoctrination, please understand that you’re very likely financing institutions that oppose your values.

Long past time for most institutions. I quit donating to Bowdoin in 1971 after the college colluded with BS artists shutting the school down to protest the war. Graduated in 1968, but it only took me a couple years to wise up. PC was already aborning.

My daughter went to Hillsdale at my support and encouragement, and received a fantastic education. I donate to them now, and will continue to do so. BTW Hillsdale just broke ground for a magnificent new "Christ Chapel" on college grounds. They are the real deal.

Agreed on the Colleges, also, every democrat and RINO should be voted out of office and never to be returned.
Wake up America.

My alma mater was cut-off after some absurd anti-military articles in our alumni magazine.

Couldn’t have put it better. I give regularly to my favorite charity — my bank account.

If I were to go to a college (a big maybe), I would never donate. The money that could be donated would be put to better use buying myself a guitar.

I stopped after September 11 since they were going to pay that Fahrenheit 911 idiot Michael Moore $35,000 on campus. I think there was such an uproar they cancelled it yet their poor judgment showed me they don't deserve my two mites.

I gave a bit to to my college until a few year ago, when they had a “womyn”/femanist month. Yes, that is how they spelled it. every campus event that moth was all feminism.

They sent me a fundraising letter and email that month. I respond to them with concerns about that using the spelling “women.” They were quick to respond with teh PC spelling. They will never receive another dime.

The last time someone from my leftist undergrad university called asking for money, I explained to the caller how much liberalism I had had to unlearn since graduation. That devolved into an argument about Karl Marx's "Capital."

They haven't called since.

I’m nearing the end of my run here on earth, so the wife and I have been doing final checks on the validity of our modestly sizeable family trust bequeaths.

Spent my freshman year at Stetson; we stopped by there a few weeks ago. Had an impromptu extended chat with a young, brilliant (non-tenured) political science professor. He is well-versed in the ways of the left, but casually dismisses the big government concerns of conservatives. He was quite happy that the “heavy hand” of the Southern Baptist Convention no longer interferes with the college’s enlightened academic elite and SJWs.

Drove north for a family reunion, then over to Hillsdale College in Michigan. (They’re the ones who publish “Imprimis”.) WOW, were we impressed! (Let’s just say that when we left them with a check, jaws dropped.)

We’ve already dumped the University of Miami (my undergrad degree) and SUNY (my wife’s undergrad degree). Since a business school professor at Stetson kick-started my career path by getting me a summer job, cutting them off really hurts, but damned if I’m going to pay for SJW training.

After our visit to Hillsdale, we’re seriously considering saying bye-by to Embry-Riddle (grad school for both of us) and leaving it all to Hillsdale.

As for now, after supporting FR, consider sending Prager “University” a donation. It’s a great bang for the buck - some of the views for their videos total in the millions!

Today most colleges are cesspools of ignorance.
