Just think of all the money the government could save if this catches on!

Nice inheritance... Assisted suicide... It’s kind of like murder, except you get away with it. Too bad Jerry Jones son can’t convince his dad to call it a day and check out before it’s too late. The Cowboys would be so much better off without Jerry.

That's the sticky wicket. Who's really making the decision here? Who is really signing the euthanasia documents?

A steep slippery slope, to say the least.

Never having been in that situation I can't say how well I'd handle it.But to me it's involvement of physicians that stinks to high heavens.Somebody hoarding a bunch of pills of their own accord is one thing.Being urged...or just assisted...by a physician (at the possible urging of greedy kids) is another.

Doesn’t sound like their loving children did much to stop them or help them.

Given a choice between spending my last days in pain, having a nursing home spend all my assets, versus checking out earlier, I would choose the latter.

Well yes, I meant to have FREE WILL to do it on your own... there are lots of ways to do it...

I’ve seen lots of older folks like that... its terrible seeing them that way... no way I want to wind up like that...

My grandma on the other hand is 95... and walks faster than me!

I,OTOH,want both Robert Kraft *and* Bill Belichik to live well into their 90's remaining healthy, happy and involved the whole time.

Obviously TB12 won't last forever...maybe another 5 years.

Single-payer.......’nuff said. When the Government makes your health care decisions, you had better wake up and realize how little your life means to the bureaucrats. If you are no longer paying into the system, all bets are off. And yes, the greedy children have been brought up in a Socialist system........Socialists care far more for the ‘bleeding crowd’ than a needing friend or relative (especially if said ‘needing friend or relative’ has money that you will inherit upon their demise).

Agreed. I saw it happen with my own family. My plans are already made for if/when the time comes. No government, no law will stop me.

I would rather my wife have a few bucks to spend as opposed to some funeral home cashing in after I croak. I was surprised to see a decent selection of reasonably-priced caskets available at Wal-Mart. Sweet!

Completely acceptable... Check out any time you like but do not make the state or society in general a party to your actions. People have been taking an early exit from life since life evolved and that’s their choice, but governments should not sanction abortions, death penalties and euthanasia.

It’s a slippery slope from assisted suicide to eugenics, and social engineering dictating who will live and who will die and socialist (and there’s plenty of them still around) will eventually go down that road if given the chance... See Hitler and Elizabeth Sanger as examples.

..its terrible seeing them that way... no way I want to wind up like that...

My Dad was my hero since I was a kid.For about the last 10 years of his life he lived with me and I took care of him (smoker's lungs). The day arrived when my older brother decided that he needed a nursing home...not an inappropriate decision to be sure.He was misreable for the year he was there. Then came his health collapse and I argued for continued aggressive treatment while the doctor argued against it (he was 89).I was outvoted 2 to 1...my brother and sister voting to accept the doctor's argument.

Nobody did anything wrong...not the doctor, not my brother, not my sister, not me.But it was damn hard to watch because of his suffering and because he was such a damn fine Dad...and man.

Gotta reach for a Kleenex now...

I have never understood paying any amount of money to bury my useless carcass. Among my after-life plans is donation of my body to science. At least someone somewhere will hopefully get use from it.
