Mitch McConnell: Great Expectations or Great Ineptitude?
American Thinker ^ | August 13,2017 | Brian C. Joondeph

Funny that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid weren't lecturing their president about "expectations." They got stuff done, for better or for worse, including passage of Obamacare. Despite President Trump's campaign promises, it's common knowledge that legislation originates in the legislative branch, meaning Congress. Trump can't repeal Obamacare. He can't replace it, either. He can certainly support congressional efforts,

True leaders, including the Senate majority leader, lead. Excuses are for Hillary Clinton and her supporters – not for Republican leaders sitting on a once-in-a-lifetime electoral majority and a long awaited opportunity to deliver on years of campaign promises.

Promises lead to expectations. These are the same promises that gave Republicans the votes they needed to now be in the majority – and the expectation by voters that they do what they promised.

Senator McConnell, don't blame your legislative ineptitude on President Trump. Or on "artificial deadlines unrelated to the reality of the legislature which may have not been understood."

We elected these people to lead. We have great expectations of them and their colleagues.

We expect them to say what they mean and mean what they say. Spare us the talk of deadlines and legislative realities.

We expect them to support their president – not blind obedience, but fealty to the campaign promises made by President Trump and Republican members of Congress. Recall that these are the promises that gave the Republicans more votes than your electoral opponents.

We expect action, not excuses.

We expect McConnell and the rest, if they can't deliver on their promises, to abdicate in favor of their colleagues who can.

As Uncle Ben told the Spiderman, "With great power comes great responsibility." Senator McConnell and his merry band of do-nothings should keep that in mind. The 2018 midterm elections are not too far away.

McConnell only cares about delivering for K Street and keeping his personal power. On those accounts he is doing just fine so far.

The government has to run and Trump needs his folks in position to run it. Ombnibus confirmation of all outstanding appointments. Tell Trump to get in all of his pending nominations, now, so at the end of the recess they can all be done.

Vetting - it's a worthless exercise in favor trading in the first place. Second place, Mitch, you guys had your chance.

You can't lead. You can't follow. Just get out of the way!

“Professional politicians” just say what they think the voters want to hear so they can be re-elected....None of them have any intention of following through with what they tell us...

We finally get a man in the White House who tries to do what he campaigned on and the “professional politicians” fight him every step of the way...He would upset their apple cart if his campaign promises were to come about...

It’s time (actually way past time) to stop voting for anyone with “incumbent” behind their name...

It is coming to this:

We can either vote our country back in the right direction or we will have to fight our country back in the right direction...

That’s it in a nutshell....

We have the best Government that money can buy. All bought and paid for buy special interests.

I keep getting calls for money from these leeches and I tell them that since I have no voice I won’t contribute.

Yep. Congress is doing fine in thier opinion. Cushy jobs, great health care plan, more time off than work, and while “working”, maintain the status quo with gridlock, show up for photo ops and moral grandstanding now and then to act like they care. Who cares about job approval? Most of them will be there for decades due to the complacency of the idiot voters. Life is good.

To paraphrase Little Rubio, ‘Let us dispense with the fiction that McConnell doesn’t know what he’s doing. McConnell knows exactly what he’s doing.’

President Trump needs to dump Congress on the ACA while they are on their “recess” and when they squeal about it he can say “Well, you are still in session, fix it.”

Mitch McConnell: Great Expectations or Great Ineptitude?

Neither. He’s doing what he wants. He’s not on our side.

One look at Mitch McConnell’s face tells us everything we need to know. You want that dufus, scared look in the face as the leader of the Senate? He’s a scarecrow afraid of the crows. One more exhausting reason why we need term limits.

“Neither. He’s doing what he wants. He’s not on our side.”

Exactly. Think back to January. Right from the gate he was reducing any expectations of getting Trumps agenda through. Here we are heading into the fall and not one of the agenda items has gone through not one. Gorsuch doesn’t really count McConnell thinks that was his win because he didin’t bring Obongo’s fool in.
