Before this last election cycle, I had never heard of “The Alt Right”, until the words came out of Hillary Clinton’s mouth. A few months later, I’m seeing a video on facebook about a group of metro sexual business type males meeting in some city and acting like Nazis with salutes and loud chants in their business attire...really? Where did they come from all of a sudden? Now they seem to be in with the real white supremacists? Most of the videos I saw of yesterdays violence, I couldn’t tell the difference between antifas and white supremacists. Both sides showed up ready to fight the other with weapons, armor and masks. This entire thing was incited by powerful people, weeks or months ago. Probably around the same time as Governor’s very impressive speech was being written.
I don’t mean to be argumentative but the Mayor wanted them to move the rally to a larger park and they took it to court and won the right to assemble in the park with the statue. That said the police should have kept both groups apart no matter what and instead they pushed them together.
Clearly, a case of ‘pest control’.

If the “alt-right” groups forced the location on the City, knowing that the City lacked the resources and motivation to protect them there, they must have sought figurative martyrdom — an especially stupid game since they should have known that the media would present everything to their disadvantage, no matter what. They ended up where they started — as discredited losers. The judge is obviously a dim bulb not to have foreseen how this would turn out.
This is the real news. The police did nothing to keep the two groups apart.

Correct ... the police weren’t ready and they stood down ...just like the Baltimore debacle.
The first group had a permit. They should have been protected.
The second group should have been kept a safe distance away and facing a police phalanx and barriers.
City and police plans were terrible..
Any movement towards the first group, is grab, cuff, and put into a paddy

So true; I warn my children about certain groups who have been indoctrinated to hate them since birth. We had a case a couple of years ago where a white college kid (Brendan Tevlin) was killed late one night in a car-jacking in what should have been a safe area (he was driving home, and stopped at a traffic light in West Orange NY - a wealthy area, not known for crime at all). The black perps got the vehicle but killed him anyway; until one said he was acting in response to the US killing Muslims in different wars, the media actually tried to smear the young victim by raising questions about why he was out late (when he was playing video games with friends - he was squeaky-clean). The government then pursued terrorism charges against the perps, but completely ignored the racial angle. This victim wasn’t military, just white - that was his “crime”.
