When We Think of Guam, We Think of Hank Johnson
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | August 9, 2017 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: Grab sound bite number 22. I checked the email, and people didn’t believe my Hank Johnson story. I can understand if you’re a Millennial and you weren’t here back in 2010, it’s seven years ago when Hank said this. If you didn’t hear it, I can understand that you might not think I’m lying, but that nobody would say that, what Hank did. Well, he did, and it was during a House Armed Services Committee hearing. It was during testimony about the 2011 defense budget request, and this is Hank Johnson, Democrat, Georgia, and Admiral Robert Willard of the United States Navy.

0:03 / 2:03 Guam will Capsize and Tip Over into the ocean Hank Johnson

JOHNSON: This is a island that, at its widest level is, what, 12 miles from shore to shore, and as its smallest level, smallest location it’s seven miles between one shore and the other. My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and, uh, and capsize.

WILLARD: We don’t anticipate that.

RUSH: That was Navy Admiral Willard saying, “We don’t anticipate that,” Congressman. The island tipping over and capsizing. Don’t doubt me, especially those of you new to the program, Gen Xers, iGen, Gen Y, Millennials, don’t doubt me.

Quite simply, the most retarded statement from one of the most retarded human beings (neck and neck with that bovine scathole Maxine Waters) on the planet.

I Don’t know what’s worse - him, or the mindless wastes of oxygen that voted him in.

When that occurred, I read it here first, and had to look up the sound bite before I believed it. I thought it was The Onion, but they usually do better. This was not funny, just Mondo-stupid.

The Hank Johnson memes are at a “tipping point”. It is time to man the lifeboats.

Congratulations to Rush for showing us more of Maxine Waters extended family. Other “members” include: Sheila Jackson Lee, and that Maryland Lawn Jockey, Elijah Cummings.

I love the General’s answer. I just hear it in that monotone, militaristic tone.

A North Korean nuclear bomb might cause Guam to tip over.

That Admiral deserves a medal for the way he handled the situation.

I can understand him keeping a straight face if 10 cruise missiles were racing towards his ship, but true grace under pressure was not dying of laughter while being questioned by Hank the Wank

My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and, uh, and capsize.

Johnson's staffer Jon Ossoff prevented that, right?

Even the leftist Snopes had to admit that it was true what Hank Johnson said, although Snopes desperately tried to spindoctor his statement about Guam tipping over and capsizing into some kind of a metaphor:
Was Rep. Johnson really expressing concern that the addition of 8,000 Marines and their families to Guam would literally cause the island to become “so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize,” or was he engaging in a metaphor about concerns over the level of environmental degradation that might result from a sudden 14% increase in Guam’s population?....

Or perhaps Johnson was clumsily trying to express the notion that adding another 25,000 people to Guam would create an unsustainably large population (and thus the island would reach its “tipping point”).

I remember listening to that audio, and I could hear the Military officers doing their best to not burst out in laughter regarding Johnson's statement.

To their credit, they did the best they could to not be disrespectful of Johnson, and they must have had an amazing degree of will power to control their mirth.

"I Don’t know what’s worse - him, or the mindless wastes of oxygen that voted him in."

You need to look at his district map to fully understand, but yes: if "mindless" is what you're looking for, his part of Georgia is where you'll find it in spades.
No pun intended.

I really liked how all the Admiral’s aides, typing furiously on their BlackBerrys, all looked up and stared at the congressman. That had to have been a very educational moment for them.

"Was Rep. Johnson really expressing concern... or was he engaging in a metaphor...?

I think it unlikely that Johnson would know what to use a metaphor...
