Funny they never did that to Zero. Shows you whose side they’re on.

But they did do that to Zero, Zero made a recess appointment anyway, and the Republicans took the case to the Supreme Court and won in a 9-0 ruling.

Don (only his best friends call him Don) should make an appointment and se who wins in court. After all, he has nothing to lose.

The resolution is patently unconstitutional and would quickly be struck down.

Oh, that old sheepskin? Anyone still read it?

Barack Hussein Obama used a fake Social Security Number since he was 16 years old, which must mean he was never an actual citizen*. The elites don’t let an old parchment stand in their way.

*When he became a US Senator and needed to travel for official business, he was handed a US Passport.

“Republicans seem to be doing more to block Trump’s agenda (read: our agenda) than they did Obama’s.”

Yes, they are. I don’t recall anything like this against Obama.

Trump needs to make some recess appointments if only to prove that he has the Constitutional authority to do so.

We are the Proletariat and the Senate is the Alpha (A**hole) class.

This Merkowski wench needs to stop pretending to be Republican along with McCain and others. These SOB's have the easiest job in the world and they still F-it up. I hate this GD government.Federalism is dead in America. There is nothing wrong with the Constitution. There is something terribly wrong with the people in government.

Tar plus feather;Tree plus rope.

In fwiw dept, somebody has to appear in the Senate (as president pro tem) and do a quorum call. Each day.
And some senators have to show up.

If not, the Senate is officially in recess.

Now Trump is a Republican president and the senate is led by the Republicans...

Yup, the Republican majority should approve appointments ASAP or they should stop with the pro forma meetings, which in essence denies the presidents right to make recess appointments.

Sh*t or get of the pot, McTurdle.

My question - does someone have to show up EACH DAY? Doesn’t the story say they plan to show up every three days?

It was not this way before Obama tried to install a Supreme Court Justice to fill Scalia’s seat. Obama took it to the Supreme Court and lost because it was ruled that the US Senate decides when it is formally in recess.

Now all members of the Senate are blocking Trump over replacing his own cabinet member who he feels misled him and is not doing the job.

If it were all democrats and a few republicans like Collins, McCain, Murkowski, then it would be seen as fixable in next years elections.

The US Senate has not given Americans healthcare reform, tax reform, regulation reform, a real budget with real spending cuts, But they have managed to give a special prosecutor carte blanche to harass a duly elected president to no end.

Very disturbing.

With Mueller convening a grand jury and this blocking of appointments, the coup is on.

National FIRE YOUR SENATOR Movement.
Needs to happen. Now.

Sorry for the few good ones who will go out with the bath water, but we need to reassert the fact that WE THE PEOPLE are in charge here.

Unlike many members of the House, US Senators couldn’t give a $hit what their constituents think and don’t routinely have town hall meetings, for which you can thank the 17th Amendment to the Constitution, before which they actually had constituents - their respective state legislators.

Unless the rule has been changed, each day. There was a recent SCOTUS decision on this.

Unfortunately, the pubbies won’t show up for a quorum call because they lack cojones.
