Native Americans did in fact have some rudimentary agriculture, hence the maize (corn is a European term for wheat), potatoes, some other domesticated crops. That’s what made them a Neolithic culture. But the traditional idea of the farmer doesn’t really apply to Native Americans, since they were basically still a hunter/gatherer society. Take a look at the average corn or potato field today. The Native Americans had nothing by comparison.
I bow to your absolute genius in being able to connect all of those dots.
Here I just thought they offed themselves because it was, you know INDIA.

We are humbled by your superior logic, Dr. Robinson! :o)

You’re referring to the Incas or the Aztecs? I agree they had civilizations on the verge of becoming ones more like those of Indo-European ones, before the conquistadors. They were more the exception than the rule, however. Most lived on simple hunting/gathering. OK I know native Americans farmed, but the typical native American in North America didn’t.
The story was published by many, many newspapers in the US and around the world because it was originally published by the US Academy of Sciences and the British Royal Society.
Check out the readers replies. Most of them agree with us, which actually comes as a surprise being that the article comes from the Washington Compost.
I know I'm getting old but it's really hard to believe an adult can get all worked up over a frigg'n phone.
Apple should send Rush a check for the huge infomercial he did for them today.
I’m starting to suspect that it’s causing my charlie horses too. /s
Also someone ate a whole container of peanut butter pecan chocolate chip cookies I made the other day and no one’s fessing up. Wait until I tell the family I know what caused it.
Yeah, well I knew native Americans developed some agriculture, but not to what extent. Just not as large an extent as Europeans or Asians. Truth be told, modern humans have existed for at least 200,000 years, and in that time agriculture is a recent invention. It allows for all we have in modern civilization. The fact that some developed it just a short time ago says nothing about the huge stretch of time that occurred before it. Switching from a hunter/gatherer society might have had some disadvantages, in fact. Relying on a single source of food tends to deplete the body of the various nutritional requirements necessary for it. Hence there have been many nutrition-related diseases as a result of pure agriculture, and not enough hunting/gathering, that have wiped out whole communities. On a side not, humans are no longer in their natural environment. We evolved as hunter/gatherers, and modern society isn’t what we’re designed for.
Yeah, it’s all a about the beer. I’m serious.

I’m much more inclined to think the suicides are due to frustration with bad reportage by the LSM than Gorebal Worming.
I realize I am late to the party here, but UC Berkeley might want to look at terminating the employment of one Tamma Carleton, due to causing total embarrassment of the institution. If that’s what they consider reliable research, then they need to rethink who they’ve hired.
See? Global Warming can solve overpopulation problems!
