WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Air Force, which has been looking for ways to lower the cost of new planes for Air Force One, is talking to Boeing about buying two jumbo jets that were ordered but never delivered to a now-defunct Russian airline.
The Air Force and Boeing confirmed Tuesday that they are working on a deal involving Boeing 747s but declined to disclose further details.

I saw the a380 recently approaching for landing. Simply massive to see in person.

Never trust “news” from AP, Reuters, NYT, WaPo, LAT, SFC, as well as so many other left/liberal print outlets.
Earlier article posted today indicated there could be a significant cost savings, even though many modifications would have to be made to = AF1 requirements.
It would be singing Russian drinking songs all day long.

Sounds like a good idea, a cancellation of several orders of the 747-800 series would be a bargain basement deal, obviously still will be the refit of essential equipment and particular equipment that a POTUS requires.
Trump knows aircraft, no doubts about that. And i wouldn’t be surprised if he was to even bring back a Concorde to be an AF1. Or a revised version, smaller, uniquely American and far faster.

I guess, like Gruber, she’s counting on the “ignorance of the American people” to interpret the headline that way.
Seems funny about the C-5’s...when I was in my 20’s I worked at Lockheed, and the job of the electronic shop was the fabrication of all the wiring harnesses for the C=5. There was also the anti-skid brake testing panel we built, and several other testing devices for the plane. But, that was 50 years ago...I guess the old girl is getting tired, like me.
The odd thing is, our shop was off-site from the main Lockheed plant, and I never saw a C-5 on the ground, and only saw it fly, one time. Irony.
Maybe the world’s most flagrant click-bait headline.
