Ohio also tried to lure them; imagine that they enjoyed spending time with Walker vs time with Kasich...imagine that!

I was born & raised in Wisconsin.
I lived in Kenosha & worked t American Motors & at Snap On.
I went back for my 50th HS reunion 10 years ago & drove around to see old friends & neighbors.
The DAIRY COWS have been heavily replaced by beef cows. I found very few dairy cows & I was driving in rural Wisconsin. The rules for handling manure daily have put them driven the dairy cows away.

Don't forget the $3 billion in tax credits. That didn't hurt either.

20 million square feet -- larger than the Pentagon, and equivalent (as Governor Walker noted during the announcement) to 11 Lambeau Fields in area.
Something doesn't add up here. 20 million square feet is 459.1 acres. The American football field, including end zones, is 360 feet long by 160 feet wide, so the area is 57,600 square feet, which is 1.32 acres. 11 of them would be less than 15 acres. Off by a factor of 30.

They are probably including the stadium and all the parking areas around it. This support area is much bigger than the playing field. It would be dozens of acres.

Well, yeah, you can do a lot with taxpayer money. Just ask Elon Musk.

Why do you think local governments are willing to pay up?

Good point. SpaceX has already drastically reduced the cost of launching. They’ve delivered a good return on the money invested.

Winning!
Foxconn is not getting one penny of taxpayer money. So you are comparing apples to oranges. Musk is actually receiving money form the feds. See the difference?
This is a huge win for Wisconsin. I am just jealous the plant isn't coming to Virginia!
Repeat after me: ALL TAX CUTS RE GOOD. EVERY CONSERVATIVE KNOWS THAT.

They are not PAYING anything to FoxConn. They are not charging as much tax to entice them to come to WI which will be a huge boost to the local economy and most likely be revenue neutral in the end. There are no subsidies in this deal.
All tax cuts are good.

Freepers tell me tariff are no good and that the road to prosperity is to lower taxes and regulations to entice manufacturing back to the USA. Well, WI lowered the tax burden and FoxConn is coming back to the USA!
You'd think Freepers would be celebrating but nooooooooooooo.
Seems nothing is good enough for the Freeper anti American hypocrite FREE TRAITOR army.

Ohio’s still in the running for another one IIRC, despite Kasich.

And I’m sure everyone will notice that Paul Ryan is in all of the photos, and the Foxconn plant will likely be built in his district. Just underscoring what I’ve told FReepers who continue to call for his replacement, that he is absolutely safe in his Congressional seat as long as he wants it. And is revered by his home district, which is all that matters.

I don't care where, what or who caused this: this is a victory for American blue collar workers. The exact constituency that the Republican party need.
This is a huge win.
