LOL

The same people telling you to be terrified of the Norks are the ones who lied in into war against Iraq.

why anyone would believe these discredited liars is beyond me.

The same people telling you to be terrified of the Norks are the ones who lied in into war against Iraq.

Nobody's "telling" anyone to "be afraid of the Norks".

It simply happens to be a fact that North Korea—a nation hostile to the US, and with an unstable leader—possesses nuclear weapons and various means for delivering them.

Thus, it's eminently logical—and entirely reasonable—to conclude that such a country could represent a bona fide threat to the United States; and it's correspondingly absurd to pretend otherwise, in the face of the unambiguous evidence—such as, for instance, test detonations of nuclear devices by North Korea, as well as tests of missile systems intended to deliver them to remote continents.

It's unfortunate that your hysterical, knee-jerk utterances willingly ignore what rational, thinking people know to be rather unremarkable truth.

Rejecting neocon tripe doesn't require a person to stick their head in the sand and ignore the consequences of North Korea detonating a nuclear bomb on or near the US mainland, and your utter lack of concern—simply because there may be some overlap with "neocons"—represents a profound disregard for geopolitical realities.

"Neocons" also believe that the earth is round and that it revolves around the sun, but that's not a sufficient or valid reason to reject such notions...

“The crazy bastards have left us with no choice but a preemptive nuclear strike.”

******

Nope.

The Norks have nukes they could load into a plane (like the Enola Gay) and drop somewhere.

They also apparently have ICBMs.

However, Kim Nutcase does not have the nuke tech reduced to a size that it can be fit into one of those ICBMs.

In other words, there’s no integration. And probably won’t be for another 10-15 years if the regime lasts that long.

I think we’re in a lot more danger from the missiles themselves rather than the missile tests...

There is a Nork threat but not because of the missiles.

More likely to have nukes traded to Iran for use by terrorists via a suicide plane crash or transported over the border and detonated in a metro area.

Hey, troll-boi.

I don't recall every seeing you post here before, despite your sign-up date.

Here's a clue.

If John F'in Kerry an Bill Clinton and Hillary and Obama and Madeleine Not-Too-Bright are for it, it's not in our country's interest.

Incidentally, what happens if the Norks nuke, say, Tokyo?

Or if they swap technology know-how with Iran?

Think that'd destabilize things?

I’m expecting some sort of preemptive strike on NK — not necessarily nuclear — from China. To keep the USA from having to do it.

There’s more than one reason we now have a Military Leader as Chief of Staff now.

Interesting list of ICBM intercept tests (successes and failures) here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground-Based_Midcourse_Defense

It appears that what would appear to be hard, hitting a small, very fast moving object many miles “up”, is quite doable, but most of the failures are “stupid stuff” that would be intolerable, at such frequency, in, say, commercial aviation: “obstructed cooling line”, “data bus failure”, “pin broke”, support arms (in silo) “failed to retract”, “test target flew off course”, and so on.

You tie two of those booster stages together and you will get more range. Here is the engine arrangement of the Titan I booster stage:

I don’t think that We need to use a Nuke but We need to take out Chiapet Jr. and his production and launch capability at minimum. JMHO.

That is the LR87 engine assembly. The Titan II ICBM, which pulled Alerts for over two decades, used a slightly modified version of that, the LR87-5. Their looks were almost identical and they were very reliable.

How could an NK missile be able to hit NY or Boston and not hit DC which is closer to NK. About the only areas that might be too far are vicinity of Maine. Not hit DC, HAH, maybe a statement to lull Congress and President into a sense of false security. The map link below is one of the few I could find that shows East Asia and the US in a way that relative distances from North Korea are readily visible. Most maps show the Western Hemispheres to the left and East Asia to the right.

I don't care about neocon bullshit.

Nukes are serious. EMP is even worse.
