Sorry but the curtain has been pulled back. Republicans are no different than democrats.
How else can you explain the scores of votes against this healthcare monstrosity and their inaction now.
They’re done!!

I was referring to the “current” senators that voted against the bill.

The 2016 Republican Party Platform:
Any honest agenda for improving healthcare must start with repeal of the dishonestly named Affordable Care Act of 2010...

To that end, a Republican president, on the first day in office, will use legitimate waiver authority under the law to halt its advance and then, with the unanimous support of Congressional Republicans, will sign its repeal.

The Republicans put up bills that do not repeal ACA. They tell us the bill repeals ACA, even though they don't. Then they "struggle" and fail to pass their garbage. Then they tell us "move on".

It's all theater.

If they put an iota of the effort spent deceiving us into actually doing what they promised we would all be better off.

Obamacare will never be repealed.

The attendants of Fedzilla will never vote to give up all the power that controlling healthcare decisions and medical records brings to Fedzilla.

We are as likely to find out the truth about the Awan brothers as we are to find out who killed Seth Rich for leaking the DNC e-mails.

Too bad they gave them too much cover. The bill they debated was quite watered down as even McCain admitted.

Thankfully, however, McCain won’t be with us too much longer and we’ve got a couple of senators who stuck their RINO necks out.

It’s sickening. But what can we do? Continue the fight! And get new people elected.

I heard Lena Epstein, co-chair of the 2016 Trump campaign in Michigan. She’s running for Senate and she’s SOLID TRUMP!

Very articulate, great business background, not even 40 yet, having her first child in a couple months.

Heard her on Bill Mitchell internet TV.

Things are on the up and up.

President Trump needs to issue an EO putting the Senate and House on ObamaCare immediately.

He doesn't have the authority.

Unfortunately IIRC McCain was just re-elected in 2016. Fortunately he will be dead before 2022.

Why not?

Executive Orders are the President's way of organizing and controlling the Executive Branch. He cannot order the Legislative Branch or it's employees to do anything other than the extremely limited items laid out in the Constitution, i.e. call Congress into session.

He may not be able to change members coverage with an EO but....I believe he does have the authority to remove the exemption of all Congressional aides. That had been a huge concern for Congress when the bill was originally passed. If Trump does that Congress will act quickly.

Is it true that Obama exempted the congress critters from Obamacare by Executive Order waiver?

Obamacare should be left alone-——let it fail on it’s own.

Is it true that Obama exempted the congress critters from Obamacare by Executive Order waiver?

No, what Obama did was get Congress out of a mess of its own making. When Obamacare was passed into law, Chuck Grassley attached language to the bill mandating that members of Congress and their staffs would have to buy health insurance on the health insurance exchanges. What Grassley and everyone else in Congress seemed to forget was that of Congress and their staffs currently have health insurance through their employer – the federal government through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan. They also overlooked the fact that under Obamacare no business has been legally required to drop health insurance for its employees like Grassley did for Congress.

Like most large employers, the federal government a large percentage of the premiums for its employees, something like 72% of it on average. The legislation didn’t include for the continued employer contribution for these federal workers who would now be buying their insurance on the exchanges. The exchanges supposed to help people without health insurance and people with overly expensive health insurance. Without their employer contribution, members and their staffs would have to cover the entire cost of their insurance and would, essentially, be getting a cut in pay and benefits equal to thousands of dollars. What the Obama administration did, since the Executive Branch runs the department that manages the insurance and benefits, was rule that the lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive the employer contribution to help them buy their insurance on the exchange.

So yes, Congress already gets their insurance through Obamacare. But unlike most people on the exchanges, and all the ones in their income levels, the government subsidizes it.
