Multiple Republican senators broke with President Trump on Wednesday after he announced on Twitter than transgender troops would be banned from serving in the military.
In separate statements, GOP Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Joni Ernst (Iowa), Richard Shelby (Ala.), and Orrin Hatch (Utah) all criticized Trump for his decision that Obama-era rules allowing transgender troops to serve would be reversed.
McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, ripped the call and said that Trump shouldn't be making policy announcements via tweet.
“The President’s tweet this morning regarding transgender Americans in the military is yet another example of why major policy announcements should not be made via Twitter," McCain wrote in his statement.
“The statement was unclear," he added. "The Department of Defense has already decided to allow currently-serving transgender individuals to stay in the military, and many are serving honorably today. Any American who meets current medical and readiness standards should be allowed to continue serving."
"There is no reason to force service members who are able to fight, train, and deploy to leave the military — regardless of their gender identity."

I’m surprised by Richard Shelby being on this list.
Not only are they RINOs, they’re pocketing big money from the gay gestapo. The Senate is a pay for play operation.
I have no problem with some one who claims they are transgendered serving. I do have a problem with them wanting to be treated by the military as a sex other then the one they are born. the military is not a place for this at all.

I think the President specifically addressed both medical and readiness standards.

Joni Ernst? I thought she was one of the good guys, especially with her strong military experience. She’s made military affairs a top priority since taking office, serving on the Armed Forces Committee and using her maiden speech on the Senate floor to introduce a bill on mental health services for veterans. Trannies certainly do need mental health services, just not in the military.
So they are already in the military and decide that they are another gender - OK fine, but the military should be under no obligation to pay for gender reassignment - no shrinks, no surgery, no medications. And the VA for damn sure shouldn’t be covering that stuff - bad enough that wounded veterans have to stand in line - can’t see them being in line behind someone with a mental disorder.
They should be ineligible for re-enlistment.
And under NO circumstances should a transgender person be able to enlist! People with Asthma, epilepsy, one kidney, cancer and a host of other medical and psychological disorders are not able to enlist so transgenderism needs to be added to that list.
It's not their "gender identity". It's their identity which is contrary to nature.
All deviants and reprobates should be removed.

The military has ONE PURPOSE, and all its resources should be efficiently used for that and only that.
It is not for social engineering.
