Oh yeah, I’m sure they want Do Nothing Jeff to occupy that chair as long as possible.

The same kinds of people who were going to block Sarah Palin from being sworn-in as Vice President if McCain had won.

This is interesting...the dems want Sessions left in place....hmmmmmm.

I've been saying Sessions is compromised since I first heard of the nomination.

If Trump were going to recess appoint, he wouldn’t make it obvious...unless he wanted to get the adversaries to think he would.

All this Sessions stuff doesn’t make sense as it’s presented.

Either Sessions is part of the swamp (unlikely...unless he’s being forced under duress) or this is a feint to force swamp dwellers to defend Sessions or Trump did read Sessions wrong and he’s not going to go after the swamp....why?

“This might explain why Trump felt a need to go through this whole WWE-style charade with Sessions”

There’s a simpler explanation. Trump needs to build public support for the firing of Sessions before he can pull the trigger.

If Sessions was smart he would resign right now with honor. If he doesn’t resign, he’ll get roasted for a long time and will get fired when he has no support left and people are just begging Trump to let him go.

I think the implication is that Trump and Sessions may have planned this all along. Now if Sessions begins to indict the Deep State this preempts Sessions from being attacked for unleashing a political witch hunt. All the Dems are now defending Sessions’ integrity.

Senator Sessions is a politician first. That might answer a question or two.

The Dems went out of their way to keep him from being confirmed. What hypocrites.

This is 100% about Mueller. Replace Sessions and at the very least he loses his blank check and no limits investigation. The Rats have all thier “the honest and impartial” SC.

Sessions is very much part of the swamp -- this vote, the "Iran Deal", was/is treason (explained here) -- this is how I knew that as AG we wouldn't see a big anti-corruption push.
(Instead we get DARE, and "warnings" to sanctuary-cities, oh! and increased asset-forfeiture.)

Yes, Barry has been quite lately. He’s not out popping his mouth off about Trump.

Fair enough.

It’s bold for sure but the problem is the dems have no problem turning on session once he starts to press so I dont see it as an effective tactic. Something I wonder is if this a ruse, Trump might just be dominating the news cycle with something other than Russia. If that’s the case, I think he’s being effective b/c the Russia story seems like it’s dying/dead.

I am sure he will get plenty of support from Republicans.

If Trump thought he needed public support to fire Sessions, I'm sure he'd be smart enough to publicly criticize him over things that actually matter to most Americans -- or even just his own supporters.

For that matter, why embark on this plan by starting with an interview with the NYT -- which Trumo himself ridicules as a failing newspaper, and which has a readership that is probably 95%-5% against Trump anyway? It makes no sense at all.
