They offered no explanation for delayed flight, canceling her ticket and forgetting to tell her they rerouted her, canceling her connecting flight and closing the terminal.
She ended up flying back to Detroit, her point of origin and on the Baltimore where my wife picked her up and drove her to her place in Virginia.

Because of the aisle.
I have not flown since the early eighties and hope never to do so again. The last time I considered flying my wife and I were going to Niagara Falls. After looking into flight options I told my wife that we could be at least halfway to Niagara Falls by car by the earliest time we could hope to arrive by air and the return trip was worse. We drove and did not need to rent a car or struggle with luggage etc. We had a leisurely return driving across upstate New York and seeing the fall color in Vermont as well as driving through the Lake Champlaign area. We were very glad we chose not to fly. Of course we had plenty of time, we were gone nine days. If I needed to go to California I would probably fly but I think flying would ruin a vacation trip. I’m not even sure I COULD do a long flight again, I am becoming more and more claustrophobic and don’t want to enter a small space which I cannot exit at will.
