TRENTON -- Transgender students at New Jersey's public schools were given new layers of protection under a bill that Gov. Chris Christie signed into law Friday.
The legislation (S3067/A4652) -- which takes effect immediately -- requires the state education commissioner to draft specific guidelines to help schools address "the needs" of transgender students and establish policies that "ensure a supportive and nondiscriminatory environment" for those students.
Schools will be expressly told that they cannot force transgender students to use bathrooms or locker rooms that conflict with their gender identity.
Instead, schools would be be mandated to provide "reasonable alternative arrangements if needed to ensure a student's safety and comfort."
Schools will also be required to make sure transgender students are addressed by the name and pronoun they prefer, regardless of whether a legal name change has occurred.

how about telling these kids who obviously have mental issues that they are what they were born, and they need to get a grip of themselves. Now if they say they are confused then tell them to get in front of a mirror, go naked, and look at yourself.
Hey presto, you now know what you are. You have a penis then you are male, If you do not have one then you are a female. Problem solved and now you are not confused.
Christie wanted to be president. This man has no principles. He cares only about himself and his career. His ambition is the biggest thing about him.

So do I. Let’s face the facts: New Jersey is a blue state, but it can go Republican under certain political environments.
Trump could win NJ in 2020 if the Democrats screw up in the state Legislature.
Christie has the aggressiveness you need in a AG, something that Sessions has failed. People thought that Sessions would be an aggressive AG, but so far he hasn’t.
Didn’t he also sign a bill outlawing gender dysmorphia counseling a couple years ago?
We've long since entered..
Not sure about lots but I did see one post suggesting that. Even if someone liked Christie (hypothetical) Christie would be better suited for some bureaucratic post than AG. Even then I wouldn't trust him.
Perhaps put him in a job that has something to do with highways and bridges ... or beaches.
