It isn’t just working for me, it’s working to extend the longevity of millions of vehicles. You are aware there are many other additives in gas, right?

Many of the withdrawn regulations were the most onerous ones proposed by Obama’s administration. Further, regulations once proposed almost always become fully operational regulations - the process of review is heavily weighted toward approval.

Finally, there is a separate process for elimination of regulations. For unapproved regulations, simple withdrawal is sufficient.

It is not the end-all of lightening regulatory burden, but it is a good start, and portends well for Trump doing all he can to lighten the fed gov’s bootprint on America’s economic throat.

So, unlike the fake news on another thread, Trump did not kill 821 regulations. What he actually did was stop the process of implementing 821 regulations not actually in effect.

I don’t deny an accomplishment but am critical of the fake news mischaracterizing the action.

Can I buy clove cigarettes again? That was one of the first things Obama did was ban “flavored” cigarettes...except menthol, of course, since they are made here.

This is great news.

People forget that unnecessary regulation has two negative impacts not just the obvious one:

1) the obvious one is that it hobbles US industry, adding cost burdens that make US products less profitable and less competitive therefore resulting in jobs, productivity, wealth and tax base leaving the country.

2) the less known negative impact may be even more profound. Regulation is the primary mechanism of choice for mega corporations to establish monopolies within their industries. The way it works is that lobbyists for the very biggest corporations induce congress to inact regulations that they can afford to comply with due to economies of scale, but which their smaller competition can not afford to comply with.

Some believe that as much as 80% of regulation was proposed and passed for this cynical purpose, rather than for the ostensible purpose I.e. safety, environmental, anti trust, etc.

Monopolies have a crippling effect on the economy by creating price umbrellas under which prices can be safely raised to exorbitant levels without consequence. Big Pharm is a good example, as they can use FDA to protect a drug from competition, even though a generic competitive version could easily be produced.

The long lasting positive effects of deregulation under Trump may well wind up being his crowning achievement.

“Can someone please explain to me why “proposed” regulations being removed is such a great big win.”

Well, for one thing, he has also removed hundreds of existing regulations. But the point of highlighting the removal of proposed regulations is to show the reversal in the tides. If there were 800 proposed when Obama left office, think how many got passed each year under Obama.

Some say that Trump essentially drained much of the swamp (the corporate lobbyist regulatory abuse part) the day he was elected.

How? By the fact that he was not Hillary Clinton.

The way legislation worked for decades up until November 8, 2016, corporate lobbyists and laundered corporate campaign donations are funneled to the DNC, the Clinton Foundation and through the lobbyists on K street to 1) induce congress to introduce and pass laws (regulation) to the advantage of the large corporations. 2) to induce the newly elected Democrat POTUS to fulfill her promises (not to the voters, but to her corporate donors) to sign that legislation when it reaches her desk.

See, according to the plan, HRC was supposed to be having hand cramps from signing all these regulations, and there were supposed to be more being generated by K street and congress every day for her to sign. That was the system for decades. Under Bush some of the players were different but it was the same crony capitalist deal.

When Trump beat Hillary and signaled he was not going to sign any of this crony calitalist BS, the whole pipeline got constipated - the money stopped flowing, the bills stopped getting proposed, because there is no POTUS to sign them. Apparently all of K street is in shock and disarray and congress has no idea what they are doing because the snake’s head got cut off and they are just writhing around in headless agony. All that money is getting pulled.

That’s the significance of 800 proposed regulations getting the heave ho.

It’s a pretty big deal to have a POTUS who refuses to play according to the swamp rules.

Trump saved America . Obama and Hillary and Bill had businesses choking on government regulations. We have a free Internet and freedom and a chance now because of Trump. Proof below:

13 ways Trump has cut regulations. 13 ways ok and Trump's goal is to cut 75% of Government regulations. So that's more than any president ever. This will save America. Clinton, Bush , Obama had added millions of pages of government regulations and Obama had started to regulate the Internet .YOu know what Trump cut all those Internet regulations form Obama so thgat you have freedom get it Ok?:

http://dailysignal.com/2017/04/23/11-ways-trump-has-rolled-back-government-regulations-in-his-first-100-days/

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/03/27/trump-signs-four-bills-roll-back-obama-era-regulations/99690456/

See Obama and HIllary were trying to do to the whole economy what they did to healthcare with obamacare. democrats are statists and they want to control business but they also want to destroy capitalism(business) and America . And if hillary had won they would have achieved all these 3 goals of democrats . and then they can install single payer for the whole economy the government as sole owner which is socialism. Already there millions of pages of government regulations that are crippling business added by w, Clinton, obama. you people have no idea what you are talking bout . the only reason you have any freedom at all right now is because Trump gave up his best life as a billionaire to become the media punching bag. better hope he doesn't get tired of that or Pence , cruz et el or other swamp creatures will just do what W did which is keep growing government regulations .

They had us at the edge of the abyss. Businesses could not take anymore gov regulation. Trump gave America another chance.

The criticism here is not addressed to the pro Trumpers but to the ones who say that Trump has done nothing. Just pinging some i see in this thread not addressed directly to all pinged.

Barry has to be kicking himself right now. He was so sure Hitlery would follow him that he lost all urgency in destroying the Republic and had to scramble to screw things up as much as possible over the final three months of his “presidency.”

The other thing about Barry that amazes me — and that saved us all from far worse — is that he was ultimately more concerned with his ego than his agenda. He could have done far worse damage if he didn’t so love the mirror.

Going into this first term I figured he’d either not succeed in his attack on America or he would be impeached, and I was wrong because he ended up working the margins of illegality and worked vigorously to hide it. Everything he did was spun to appear less vulgar, less illegal than it was, and what he actually accomplished was less effective because of it.

I’m not saying the guy wasn’t a disaster — and would have been an unmitigated disaster had Hillary won — I’m just saying that it could have been far worse but for his ego that got in the way of what his backers wanted him to do. That and he was supremely lazy.

And, most importantly, Donald Trump intervened.
