It was part of Mueller’s mandate. The “...and anything else part”. Most Freepers have more political savy than Trump. Justice gets staffed by political partisans and Trump just winged it. He should have had a bulldog. Instead he put a King Charles Cavalier in.

I hope Trump fires him. No more “independent counsel.” If Congress doesn’t like it, they can impeach. We are due for a civil war anyway.

This is why the uni-party so desperately wants to curtail Trump before he gains any (further) traction. People may claim that he has prior experience dealing with the mob and corrupt politicians, but I do not believe he fully understood the magnitude of the task at hand. However, once he fully embraces what needs to be accomplished, then the gloves come off and the deep state will begin to experience some very real losses.

In many ways, what is occurring right now is similar to the first two years of the first civil war, in that while Lincoln, the military (McClellan et al) and RNC leadership wanted to preserve the union, they weren't yet prepared to prosecute it to the fullest extent necessary to achieve victory. We all know what happened afterward once Grant & Sherman were on board.

Trump is essentially in the same place mentally, but when/if he comes to the realization of the predicament the nation truly faces, he will have no choice but to proceed - or be destroyed. And not just his personal family; can you imagine the revenge the uni-party would have on normal Americans if they ever retain power? That's why, when/if Trump chooses to prosecute *this* civil war with every possible constitutional power of the presidency, the deep state will be in the same position as the Confederacy.

Is Trump laying the groundwork to ditch Mulehead?

I think he is, and I'd support the President in doing so.

Even though Swamp and Media brains would have to be cleaned of the walls for weeks, it seems almost as if the President has no alternative.

Think about it. What's the alternative? Let Mueller—loaded with conflicts of interest, and having hired a who's who of partisan Democrat lawyers—conduct limitless opposition research for the Swamp—using taxpayer dollars—all the way up through the 202 election cycle.

If President Trump has the courage of his convictions—if he knows he's innocent—then why let the Democrats—through the Special Counsel—slime him for the next 3-1/2 years?

If the President can't limit the scope of the Special Counsel and/or get one that shows a modicum of fairness, then what, practically speaking, are his options?

I've been predicting he's going to fire Mueller for the last coupe of days—once he has all his ducks in a row.

And, boy, will the Media and Swamp howl about that. But that's all they do anyway.

The President might have concluded that he should just dispense with all this Democrat nonsense—and that's exactly what it is—say "damn the torpedoes", and dare the Swamp to try to impeach him.

Quite frankly, I don't think the People will tolerate an illegitimate impeachment.

One thing for sure. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The funny thing is, the Swamp and Media are so maniacal already, that they really don't have much more outrage to put on display. They're basically maxed out, and have been for 2 years. I don't think they can handle what's coming, and I'm becoming more and more convinced that the President is supremely confident that he will win this game of chicken. After all, in case nobody has noticed, winning is what he does best.

He's either going to go down as one of the greatest President's in history, or the Swamp—by destroying him—will foment a Civil War which will vindicate him regardless.

We are definitely living in "interesting times", and I've seen enough, at this point, to trust President Trump's judgement implicitly. If he goes down, it will be with his base intact, and if his base remains intact, he won't go down. CHECKMATE, Swamp!

I play some wargames on the net, such as “Warcraft” where teams compete. To gather resources to build bigger armies, you must expand past your original base-—build a new base. Naturally, you enemies try to take your new base out.

Of course, if you can, it’s possible to just hit it under construction-—but then the opponent just cancels. He doesn’t get a base, but he doesn’t lose any resources.

The second best option is to wait until he has it JUST built, cannot cancel, then destroy it, not only ending his expansion but burning up his resources that it took to build it.

But there is something called a “teleport,” where you can send your entire army to ANY of your bases, including the new one you just built. If all your teammates work together, when the enemy attacks your new base, all three teammates can teleport in and fight there.

The VERY BEST option is to wait til the base HQ is built, attack, force a teleport of at least one-—or even two-—but destroy it before all three arrive. Now you’ve destroyed the expansion, all the resources to build it, and the enemy probably lost both armies fighting 3 v 2, with his last army now isolated.

In the case of Mueller, you could have killed the investigation in the cradle-—as he just started the base. But there was still hope that he was going to be fair, and more important, that he’d actually look at the leakers and at Cankles. (We DO NOT KNOW: while it doesn’t seem likely, this is still a possibility. None of us are inside).

But since it is underway, timing is key. Trump needs to wait until not only does Mulehead almost have the base built, but get the enemy totally invested-—just before ALL resources can be brought to bear. Then kill the investigation, literally tying up the “evidence” for years, tying down the enemy armies into supporting this-—but not quite all of them-—and eating up all the resources (not taxpayer money, but time, energy, contacts, etc).

You are no doubt correct on this strategery, LS. My concern is that all these Cankles sycophants in Mulehead’s organization are just cutting and pasting leak material onto flash drives and taking them home.

Even if/when Trump crushes this witch hunt, they’ll be dripping their nonsense to the Washington comPost for the next 8 years....knowing it leads to nothing, but giving the Bezos Blog plenty of fake bombshells. (Can I just say I am SICK of hearing that word being used in the fake news? “Bombshell” is used repeatedly when it ISN’T. Ignoramuses in the media are using it for really weak rumor mongering.)

okay. jmho.

FReepers excel at hyperventilating and inventing bogeymen. For all anyone knows, nerdy outsider Jew Rosenstein, known to his circle as an odd guy with Republican leanings, is looking to destroy the reputation of bully frat boy Mueller for personal slights as well as professional misjudgments.

1. ENTIRELY possible. I absolutely could be wrong. (So far, my record is pretty darn good-—but Bannon does NOT comment on the investigation to me in any way, shape or form. And that’s good.)

2. Also possible Mulehead is going a fair job. Doubtful, but possible.
