Attorney General calls for battle with gangs, drugs

In a Twin Cities appearance United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions warned that violent crimes and drug trafficking is on the rise in the nation, and called on prosecutors to aggressively battle street gangs.

Sessions addressed hundreds of prosecutors from across the nation who gathered at the downtown Minneapolis Hilton Hotel for the National Association of District Attorneys annual meeting.

"We can never cede a single neighborhood, or a block or a street corner to gangs and thugs," Sessions told the group, citing newspapers stories from Minneapolis.

"Much of our rising murder rate is indeed, I am now convinced, a product of violent gang activity."

He challenged the prosecutors to pursue more gun crimes, and pledged that federal prosecutors are stepping up such cases.

"We've got a lot of people who want to pass more gun laws, but they’re not as enthusiastic, it seems to me, about prosecution the ones we've got," the Attorney General remarked.

"I think if we work together and hammer criminals who carry guns during crimes, that possess firearms after having been convicted of a felony, we will have a positive impact."

Sessions said he believes the uptick in violent crimes in the past few years is not just an aberration, but the beginning of what could a long slide into the high crime rates that plagued the nation in the 1980s if left unchecked.

In case folks haven't figured it out yet, Jeff Sessions is never going to go after the Clinton Crime Foundation, Obama, Susan Rice, John Podesta, John Brennan, Loretta Lynch, or James Comey.

Sessions is never, ever going to investigate Hillary and Obama's murders, including that of Seth Rich.

Sessions is not going to do a thing about the illegal surveillance or unmasking of Trump, his family, or his loyal staff.

Sessions is a recused, neutered, do-nothing, and he is not going to "change", "wake up", "get going", or "turn around." He wants to reinvigorate the D.A.R.E program. He wants to increase asset forfeiture even though people are not convicted of crimes. He is worse than useless.

He recused himself only weeks into the Trump Administration, and turned over the reigns to Rod Rosenstein, who promptly appointed his buddy (and James Comey's buddy) Mueller to endlessly investigate Trump in the hopes of finding a crime.

He is pretending to do something, anything, other than go after the real criminals in the D.C. Swamp and the Deep State.

Man, this is scary stuff! I have to believe the majority of the supremes and congresscritters have been “unmasked” and consequently blackmailed. According to the following article, Sessions was requested to investigate leaks going back to Feb. Not only is there no appearance of an investigation, but neither is there an investigation of “unmasking”. I’m afraid if this isn’t brought in the open in the next few months, we are done!

Trump has to fire Sessions. There is no easy way to do it, but Sessions can never recover at this point because of his self serving and cowardly refusal. Even Hugh Hewitt, who has high friends in the DOJ and the Administration, said flat out on Monday that he is hearing that Sessions has to go.

He would have been a better fit over at ICE as an administrator. His forte has always been illegal aliens. I think he’s in over his head too—he’s no Rudy G., and Rudy only had one city—and Sessions is tasked with getting all the problem cities. LA, Detroit, Chicongo and the rest: hives of scum and villainy (in City Hall and on the streets) to step up.

We need an ambitious guy in his 40s willing to go bareknuckles with cities who still think the solution is more gun control. He’s right: we need gang control.
But does he have the mojo? As you say, he hasn’t show it yet.
Aristotle talked about this in his Nicomachean Ethics: the problem with older guys is we tend to be more cautious, mebbe too careful. We need a crime crusader willing to put good guys on the street with guns to clean up streets run by drug dealing thugs. Not more empty platitudes about “Just say no”.
He could address the drug problem better in the DHS by shutting down the Mexican cartels from running their poison to these hives.
