MANCHESTER — Augustin Bahati, the Congolese refugee who had domestic violence charges against him dismissed for reasons of cultural incompetency, participated in a class that taught him about the legal system and domestic-abuse laws, a refugee resettlement group said Monday. Newly arrived refugees are enrolled in cultural orientation classes held in their own language, said Jeffrey Thielman, president and chief executive of the International Institute of New England....Refugees charged with a crime are treated no differently than a citizen, Thielman said. Upon conviction, they can’t be deported.

Many Africans that have been here for generations act much the same and little is done to stop them. The judiciary is more corrupt than congress ever imagined.
Extreme Vetting of Immigrants and or Refugees should include Cultural Compatibility.
American Laws are a mirror of and rooted in our cultural norms, self-evident truths, and moral laws which are God-given. American Laws are upheld and defended by the government -NOT determined by the government.
If a refugee/immigrant commits a crime and is found to be incompatible with our cultural norms their legal status should be revoked and they should be deported ASAP!
Wow, so pretty much anything goes with refugee crime because they are “culturally incompetent”??? Dear Lord, help us :(
But the refugee program in this case makes it illegal to deport them for any reason. They argue that "refugees" have no place to be but here.
It is also an indictment of every refugee from his country, they cant be expected to follow our laws because they have a different culture.
Then don't let them in.
How about if one of us attacked an LGBT and claimed cultural incompetency as a defense?
The answer should be simple... “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
The Judge should have said, “you’re welcome to do that in your home country. But you’re not in your home country.
Guilty!”
The people who promote this crap are the very same ones who decry “Ugly Americans” who go to foreign countries, but don’t abide by local customs, or speak the local language.
