These days I wouldn’t suggest to anyone the military is a good career choice.
I knew a couple gay folks when I was in. Heck even our pediatrician “probably” was gay. The wife worked at a bank and the doc and a friend came through the drive through a few times and looked too friendly to be just plain friends. But nobody gave a damn.

My entire "essay" was either material from the training, or descriptions of elements of the training. I was not expressing an opinion here, I was describing exactly what the training said. And yes, I went through the training. It is mandatory for all Army Soldiers and Civilians.
If something gave you the impression that I somehow am cheerleading this kind of training, please let me know what it was because it was entirely unintended. I try to be very clear in my writing, but sometimes I word something in a way that does not communicate what I meant to say. I can only learn from feedback.
You have stated the policy slides perfectly for Bryan. I know because I was tasked to present the Level 3 briefing for our Army civilian organization GS-12s and below.

G-F, I really feel for you.
I felt really bad for the guy who was giving our organization the training. A young man (SFC) with a wife and kids at home, a Christian, a veteran of three deployments to Afghanistan, and he had to stand up and tell us about this new "policy" that is in-your-face over-the-top celebration of sexual perversion and mental illness. And we are just supposed to accept it.
I keep hoping and praying that President Trump will make this nightmare go away.
Transvestites are not necessarily gay. Often, they are heterosexuals who get turned on by the idea of pretending to be female.
An episode of COPS once featured a transvestite who liked to dress in women's clothing and strut around the streets of Sacramento--and his wife was completely aware of his strange hobby. He sure was ugly when dressed as a woman.
You obviously are part if the establishment i.e. the swamp if you attended that indoctrination without turning over tables, dumping water pitchers and throwing chairs. But big money in those civilian biomedical contracts, eh?
Obviously, you have never served in the military. As horrific as this training is, the requirement to take it constitutes a legal order. As such, I may dislike it intensely, but I and every other Soldier in the unit attended it without a protest because to do otherwise is to get into all kinds of legal trouble, and is almost certainly a career ender.
I don't know what you are trying to get at with your quip about big money in civilian biomedical contracts. If I were to try to profit from any contract, I would go to prison. Fiscal law is very strict on these matters, and the penalties are severe. Everything I do with respect to contracts is in the interest of the government, not myself.

Yeah...throwing chairs and generally having a hissy fit during a military briefing isn’t something I’ve ever seen. And after 20 yrs in the military I sat through a few of them.
Background: I have a couple gay friends...one is retired military. 30+ yrs ago spent an evening with my GF, her brother and his BF, and that was really my first known interaction with gays.
Anyway...something I never could figure out...why does a gay man dress up as a woman..to attract another gay man?

After several months of working 12 hour days, seven days a week in the ER because of sudden shortages due to deployments to Somalia a Major I knew was at a meeting with the Hospital Commander in a conference room begging for help. When an MSC Major across the table remarked, “You’re just lazy.” He went right over the table for the guy’s throat. He had to be pulled off. Being called lazy by an MSC officer was more than he could take. While I wasn’t present I heard about it and know it for a fact. A room full of 20 Colonels, LTCs and a few majors. It must have been quite entertaining.
Not being gay or every having anything to do with gay, I can’t personally say, but...remember that move about the JFK assasination and the New Orleans prosecutor? Remember the gay scene where they are all at a dinner, almost like a “dining out” and most of them are in costume? Hermes, etc. it occurs to me that one thing Hollywood can probably “get right” is queer orgies. So what causes grown men to dress up as all kinds of different crap to have sex with each other? Not just women. I can’t say I know but my first guess is “mental illness.”
If this isn’t eliminated asap, and women do not quit the military because of it, then will be difficult to feel sympathy for them.
Imagine what would happen if every single military female up and quit. Because that is exactly what SHOULD happen, if this insane, shameful rule is not dropped immediately.
I hear you there. My youngest son graduated from HS in 2016, and really wanted to join up with the USCG. I told him to wait until after the election to see who would be the next POTUS, and go from there. BTW, under President Trump, the USCG is hiring. Interested in playing WWE smackdown on drug runners “Trump style”?

I thought it was pretty funny when I heard about it after the meeting. Imagine an MSC Officer calling a Medical Corps officer lazy. I woulda choked the SOB out, too.
Perhaps the solution is to have certain ships that have ONLY women on board.
