Gingrich: Trump ‘Landmark’ Warsaw Speech Best Since FDR ‘This Is a War About Civilization’
Breitbart ^ | July 6,2017 | by Jeff Poor

Gingrich told fill-in Laura Ingraham the speech was much like the one former President Ronald Reagan gave in 1982 to British parliament and laid out the “struggle” the West is facing with Islamic terrorism and “bureaucratic secularists.”

“I thought it was very much like Reagan’s 1982 speech at Westminster, which was one of his best speeches,” Gingrich said. “Trump is describing in a way almost no American president has since Franklin Delano Roosevelt that this is a war about civilization — that we are in a struggle. And I thought he was particularly courageous in pointing out that not only are we in a struggle with Islamic terrorists, we’re also in a struggle with bureaucratic secularists such as the British court that basically wants to kill Charlie Gard, the little baby that they do not want to allow to go and have any kind of help, either at the Vatican or in the United States.”

“It’s a landmark,” he added. “I think people will be able to see philosophically a lot better who Donald Trump is from this speech and I think from the standpoint of the Polish people it was enormously heartening to have an American president so decisively with them and so openly tough about communism and about Russia.”

I laugh heartily when Trump’s Poland speech is likened to that of Ronald Reagan’s great oration.
Why laugh? Because I remember hor Reagan was ridiculed and disrespected and described as a “2nd class movie actor who made his best film being second star to a monkey.” Remember that?
A “monkey’s co-star” and a “cheeto buffoon with stupid hair” will be known to history as among our greatest presidents.
Also considering how Harry S. Truman was described, I think that when the Intellectual Elite class cheers and raves about any politician, it is time to run like hell in the other direction.

I hate that Newt uses socialist FDR to compare Trump to. Better to compare Trump to Reagan’s ‘Tear down this wall’ speech.

I think that the speech that President Trump gave wasn’t so much a speech, as it was an ultimatum to the EU.

Either the EU countries get their shit together, or they will be conquered and annihilated by the muslim barbarians.

That war is already in full swing as we speak. The “refugees” are just the first wave of the latest onslaught.

The muslims have been waging war on europe for the last 1400 years. The europeans are too naive or corrupt to realize it.

Even JFKs ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’ (I am a jelly donut ) speech would be a better comparison. JFK was more conservative than most Washington republicans are today.

Newt and a bunch of others in the Republicrat party can't resist throwing FDR comparisons around because they've been to so damn many workshops where they've been taught that such comparisons help to "make a larger tent" to bring in more people to vote Republicrat.

Newt needs to wake up. It's time for sharpening entrenching tools, passing out grenades, and making sure the trench brooms are in good shape, not making a bigger tent.

The globalists haven’t come as far as they have to surrender to making America great again. Unfortunately, the idiots in this country don’t know the truth about what globalism will be like. Those protesters in Hamburg, being bused and financed from far and wide is the same we have here. Take a good look at what happens with grand organization.

I recall when that happened — it was funny. “Today I am a jelly donut.”
