PBS Poll: More Americans Trust Trump Than the Media; 'Horrible Trend'
Newsbusters ^ | 7/6/2017 | Mathew Balan

Monday's PBS NewsHour spotlighted the low trust in the news media, according to the results of their latest poll. Only 30 percent of those surveyed by NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist trust the press "a good deal" or "a great amount." The Trump administration scored seven points better in the same poll. Guest Stuart Rothenberg bemoaned the "horrible trend" towards distrust of the media over the past several decades. NPR's Tamara Keith underlined that "these numbers are part of a very long trend of institutions losing trust from the American people; and that...puts America at risk."

Maybe if the “Media” didnt collude with the Democrat Party, ya know, give them the questions in advance..and work their hardest to get one particular candidate elected..and actually REPORTED the news instead of giving their opinion people would actually BELIEVE something the media says

The media have intentionally been “putting America at risk” all my life, going back to at least that prevaricating putz Walter Cronkite and the Tet Offensive.

Agreed. And I’m quite sure that many people in both Vietnam and Cambodia hold Woodward and Bernstein in such high regard (do I need to indicate the sarc on that point?).

The media hate Trump because he treats them with the respect they deserve.

That ship sailed years ago... DECADES AGO!

They have been up to their scam for years and still haven’t changed. There is no hope for them.

You have me beat! I got frustrated and searched the airwaves for relief from the local newspaper. I found Rush hidden away on AM radio and the rest is history for me.

The whole Vietnam War was misrepresented in the news. Should we have been in Asia? Don't know. But hind sight is 20/20 tells us that the Communists were truly evil. And no doubt, Hanoi Jane would have had some “splainin” to do if she tried the same thing today.

Wait. Didn’t Survey Monkey just release a poll that said more people trusted CNN than Trump?

Which one got skewed?

But... CNN has a poll that shows them much more popular and trustworthy than Trump.

LOL

He who commissions a poll can also commission the desired results.

Anyone who trusts the media is, at best, naive...at worst, a lunatic.

30-35%.

Poll after poll and the same percentage is rabidly anti-Trump and/or supports all the different people, institutions and policies destroying the US.

This country is 30-35% committed hard left.

Yes. For those who understand American history, those in the media who control the ink, have swayed American minds one way or the other, and not always with honest reporting. In the early 20th century there was a lot of dishonest reporting by the Hearst empire. William Randolph Hearst was the inspiration for Kane, the lead character in the film Citizen Kane. He was a racist who exerted enormous political influence, which at times put America at risk.

I'm enjoying the downfall of the MSM at the hands of President Trump. It's about time the lies of the media were exposed.
