I'm not sure what you mean here. This liar was convicted. Many kinds of lies (false reports, perjury, slander, libel) are prosecuted. If convicted, there's always a penalty. So, did you instead mean to say they're let off too easily? I guess the biblical penalty would be for her to be sentenced the same as her victims were or would have been, right? That would be just, I think.
They have even made it legal to lie for political gain.
What sort of political lies are you suggesting should be illegal? (Were they ever?) Specific examples, please. And, what would be the penalties?
There are people who will become violent when you suggest the burden of proof in a rape case is NOT on the accused....she is proof that it is the burden should always be on the accuser.
1: Yes the penalty should be the same as the damage the lie would have inflicted per the Word of God.
2: Time and time again I see situations like "Hands up don't shoot" and I NEVER hear of the false witnesses being rounded up and thrown in jail 20 years for false testimony of murder.

How about when Harry Reed says that Mitt Romney never paid any taxes? His cohorts in the media did his bidding, or visa versa, and pushed the story down our throats as if it were true. "It's the seriousness of the charge". Perhaps you've noticed that there is a political party that is perfectly comfortable of living entirely in a world of lies.
When Satan lies he speaks his native tongue. This is true of the Dems. When we as a nation make that part of our politics then I'll refer you back to those Jefferson quotes and how the founding fathers depended on honesty for this experiment to work.
How about prostitution urination gate? Could Trump conceivable pursue that to its beginning? I would think so and I would think the person who started that or the persons responsible for creating such a fiction should be accountable to the tune of lots of jail time.
How about the guy in prison for Hillary and Rice's "it was a video lie". Said lies have inflicted and the more we say "let the buyer beware" the more we allow Satan, the ruler of this world, to corrupt it. When we don't fight such deceit "salt has lost it's savor".
