Don't Muslims pray outside, commandeering streets and sidewalks? This guy should appeal the ruling, go to court, or whatever they do up there. Didn't Mark Steyn prevail in his "Human Rights Violation" matter?

Lots of Ontario snowbirds down here in the winter. It's so disheartening to hear them talk politics. They're losing their minds up there.

You're talking about King Ralph! Like President Trump, he was somewhat of an outsider who made his way into politics. DJT was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, while Ralph, growing up in a broken home in the Tuxedo Park neighbourhood of Calgary, was born with, if anything, a plastic spork in his mouth.

There are other similarities. Both were media personalities, (of course we all know of DJT's) Ralph being a reporter for CFCN, before deciding to run for, and win, the role of the Mayor of Calgary in 1980. He raised a stink, referring to the 'Eastern creeps and bums' (think: 'carpetbaggers') moving to Calgary during the late '70s, early '80s oil boom.

He switched to Provincial politics winning the Calgary-Elbow riding in 1989. Like DJT, his party 'elites' did not like him. The Progressive Conservatives (PCs) had lost their way, borrowing too much money and being anything but 'conservative'. Ralph was not liked by the PC insiders, yet he surprisingly won the leadership in 1992. As leader of the PCs, he also became Premier. The PCs under Ralph, maintained power until 2006, when he resigned after he won (by a mere 55%) a leadership review.

Since that time, Alberta has been led by an assortment of disappointing Premiers, from 'Don' Ed Stelmach of the Vegreville 'outfit' to (very Red) Alison Redford. Eventually, the PC's were tossed out in May 2015, when the socialist NDP came in with a majority.

Ralph cut government largesse, balanced the budget and even provided Albertans with a 'Prosperity Bonus' of $400 each. About the only negative thing I can say of Ralph, is that the destruction of the Calgary General Hospital, with no replacement yet built, was not a good choice, but compared to what he accomplished, it is a minor thing.

I see a lot of similarities between Premier Ralph Klein and President Trump, mostly all great similarities but a few not so great similarities.

As an Albertan since 1991, I can loudly proclaim, "Ralph, we miss you SOOOO MUCH!". Hopefully, Andrew Scheer, the new Canadian Conservative Party leader, can win during the next Federal Election and bring us back from the precipice that Turd-owe has brought us to. Hopefully, the AB PCs and Wildrose Parties will merge and a true CONSERVATIVE party will emergency provincially, also.

Yeah that’s the guy: King Ralph!

Lol, That was great times living in Alberta!

I remember at some point during an international press conference he pushed aside the prime-minister and took the microphone.

Now that’s leadership!

Lol, hilarious!

I can’t argue with you on any of your points. I am a gun owner for sporting clay and skeet purposes only.

We tend to follow the American lead. If DJT can make a big, positive change in the US economy, Scheer may gain some traction and win. Maybe a repeat of Harper’s run.
