I call them Repressives.
I call them all either communist or collectivist.
Any other label (apart from leftist) seems to me to be a euphemism.
Regressives
What they advocate is a regression to feudalism, with the Communist appartchiks (’bureaucrats’) just being the new feudal Lords looting the Serfs...us
Nothing new or “progressive” about their BS
Liberals ALWAYS make up weasel words to hide their intentions, because they know no one like them.
Homosexual became ‘gay’
Communist became ‘progressive’ and ‘liberal’
Illegal Alien became “undocumented”
etc...
Correct. They view themselves as the new feudal lords.
Central Planners
Progressive is the new speak for Marxist. I call them what they are: subversives.
Progressives are not pure Socialists. They favor Public-Private Partnerships.
Alinsky orgs getting government money are Public-Private partnerships.
Solyndra getting taxpayer money is a Public-Private partnerships.
But they only like Partnerships that benefit their side. Thus they do not like Privately run prisons, which are also a Public-Private Partnership.
But they do like it when Chicago Dems sell the Skyway to EU. That is a good Public-Private Partnership.
A true Marxist is ideologically consistent. Progressives are not logically consistent. They are strong supporters of double standards.
There isn’t anything “progressive” about Marxism-Socialism/Collectivism.
Part of it was that the word “liberal” had become so trashed by the end of the Reagan era. People were totally disgusted with “liberals,” so they had to find a new term for themselves. And so they began substituting “progressive” for “liberal.”
It was Hillary that declared she wasn’t a Liberal but a Progressive tying herself back to Woodrow Wilson a leader of the Progressive Movement.
Lenin’s New Economic Policy favored public-private partnerships in many cases as well.
Leftist fascists
works for me...when I can’t use the more proper term “assh*les”
[I]t is very clear that in fundamental theory, socialism and democracy are almost, if not quite, one and the same. That is what Hillary was tying herself to? because that is what Wilson said even before he became POTUS.
Call yourselves what you want you commies.
I like to call the Leftists and the Left. I will not use the word “liberal” because they are not liberal in the classical sense. I will not use the word progressive for reasons mentioned in the article. I think words like “marxist” and “socialist” should be used technically. Some Leftists are maxist or socialists, but for those who just go along with the hive thinking and the young SJWs they may be fellow travelers in economic thought to marxists and socialists, but may not be developed enough in their philosophy to so call them. So when I mean the whole lot of the Leftism, I say Leftism and Leftist etc.
I still remember the first time I ever heard a liberal being called a “progressive”. It was in Walter Mondale’s nomination speech in 1988. As best I can remember he said, “I am not a liberal. I am a Pragmatic Progressive”. At the time I thought it was just semantics, but the term has stuck, at least with the left.
