Someone needs to pile drive a bunch of foam cored ferrocement pilings into the surf on the seaward side of this “island” fast to help stabilize it from being washed away by the next big storm. Then set up some rock breakwaters on similar footings to slow the current around the island to keep it from eroding from the other side. Next, plant mangroves along the edge.

Just because they can.

Well, bashing Trump as a draw doesn’t seem to be working, so maybe some news of the “something you don’t hear about everyday” might generate some hits.

Yes...the beaches here on the California coast go up and down 4 to 8 feet every year as the ocean takes away the sand and brings it back in.

Try navigating the Missouri or Mississippi Rivers. Sandbars come and go all the time.

I think I’ll set aside my Global XXXing and Asteroid fears today for a few hours so I can dedicate some fear to mysterious new islands appearing.

Infested with sharks.
Always “infested”.
Why not “occupied” or “have taken up residence” or “visiting on holiday”.

Infested?

Shark-phobic, I tells ya.

Vertices of Bermuda Triangle: Florida, Puerto Rico, Bermuda.

Sandbar forms off Hatteras @ NC...

The only mystery is what the article’s author was doing in the 8th grade because neither geometry nor geography appears to be their strong suit.

If you get an old Charles Berlitz list of ship disappearances “In the Bermuda Triangle” you will find most of them disappeared well outside the triangle.

The full title was Mystery of Bermuda Triangle deepens as 'dangerous' mile-long island suddenly forms in middle of Atlantic Ocean.

Since they went on to say The crescent-shaped mile-long island off the tip of Cape Point in Buxton, North Carolina, began rising from the sea in Spring, I'm guessing that means that Knoxville Tn. is now on the western edge of the Atlantic Ocean. WooHoo, I own oceanfront property and didn't even know it!

"5ft. long sharks be easy to catch and they's good eatin'."

I thought the only thing you could eat on a shark was the shark fin?

I’m so confused. How could an island appear? The seas are rising because of global warming, right? Since when was the Bermuda Triangle in swimming distance of North Carolina? I needa git re-edumacated. Quik like.

“Did we recently export a bunch of US teachers and journalists to the UK?”

If they were real British journos they would be referring to their scientists as “boffins”. I find that amusing...

It’s Cape Hatteras the”Graveyard of Ships” due to the constant movement of sandbars there.

That’s not a sandbah, It’s a bloody island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
