A flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou has reportedly been delayed for several hours because a superstitious woman threw coins into the plane’s engine for good luck.

It looks like the plane was still parked at the gate, so maybe the engines had not been started yet.
If the engines were on, the coins would damage the turbines causing the plane to be taken out of service.
How did this dope get so close to the plane ?
