Rand Paul: I Will Vote for 80-90% Repeal of Obamacare, GOP Bill ‘Not Anywhere Close’
Breitbart ^ | 06/25/17 | Pam Key

Posted on 06/25/2017 4:47:26 PM PDT by Enlightened1

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” while discussing the Republican health care bill, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he would vote for a partial repeal of Obamacare, but the current bill was “not anywhere close to repeal.”

Paul said, “I’ve been telling leadership for months now that I will vote for a repeal and it doesn’t have to be a 100 percent repeal. For example, I’m for 100 percent repeal, that’s what I want, but if you offer me a 90 percent repeal, I’d probably vote for it. I might vote for 80 percent repeal.”

What is wrong with just repeal only Obamacare? Why is that so hard? I thought that was the platform Republicans ran on to repeal Obamacare in 2016?

We now have a shortage of Doctors too because of it. Gee I wonder why?

I wish Rand Paul would write a bill he will support. Let’s see what it looks like.

They would rather pay insurance companies 59 Billion Dollars in direct payments. Insuerers have never resuscitated a patient, given meds, consoled a family member. They have denied care, restricted care, told doctors how little care they could give your wife, husband, son, daughter, mom or dad.. So why bail them out? #insurance is not healthcare.

RyanCare still leaves in place 99.9% of obamacare.

nothing to bring down cost of insurance or even more importantly, cost of health care itself, since both parties are totally bought out by drug and insurance companies, and healthcare and medication costs are still going to be through the roof.

nothing about competition, either in insurance or healthcare.

nothing to rein in obscene drug prices.

nothing about insurance across state borders.

nothing about insurance companies selling cheap catastrophic insurance, or any other policies they so desire, as long as legal and not fraudulent.

nothing about eliminating obamacare mandates that make insurance unaffordable.

RepublicanCare is a sick joke.

they’d be WAY better off to pass no bill at all and let kommiecare collapse in a year, and THEN they’d have a universal mandate to actually repeal and replace.

Hopefully, they represent the same state.

The sad thing is that healthcare really isn't difficult to fix.

That’s my gripe as well. No one is focused on the cost of care, which drives the cost of insurance....ugh.

Whatever bill that Rand Paul would write, would be immediately be resisted by that one third of the Republican caucus that are actually Republicans-in-name-only.

There are three minorities in the US Senate, the Democrats, the liberal RINOs, and the Constitutional Republicans. Hard to build a working majority on that.

Actually Trump ran on “repeal and replace”, and promised a “great play” that would “take care of everybody”. The big problem is Obamacare did what it was supposed to do, it destroyed what millions of Americans already had through work. Simply repealing won’t turn back the clock and will leave those folks who have been victimized once already, many with pre-existing conditions, in the lurch. That’s why Trump emphasized his “great plan”. Just repealing would be a betrayal of those voters, and probably make Trump a one term president.

It’s easy to say “just repeal it” when you don’t have to deal with the consequences.

That should be “great plan”, not “great play”, though I expect you figured that out.

If Trump is selling another Rinocare bill like he did with Paul Ryan’s bill a few months ago, where he attacked the Freedom Caucus, you can’t claim that he’s being misled anymore.

BTTT.

Repeal it. Enact a bill to allow insurance sales across state lines. Then move to a tax cut bill.

People saying repeal and don’t replace were not paying attention to the campaign season. Trump never said repeal without saying replace also.

Something better pass or the agenda is dead. No tax cuts, no senate next year etc. The free market has been out of healthcare for fifty years hard to see how this one bill would put Adam Smith back into it now

Just vote for a 100% state Opt-out.

Let the socalist democrats controlled states drive themselves into the ground trying to support Obamacare over the next 4 years.

Let the Republican run states with honest republican majorities Opt-out of everything, taxes, regulations, ect...

By 2020 we will own what remains of the healthcare market, bring huge economic benefit to our states, and democrats will still own the socialist disaster they have brought upon themselves in their states.
