Rare G.O.P. Species Runs for New Jersey Governor: A Moderate
New York Times ^ | June 25, 2017 | NICK CORASANITI

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — The Republican candidate for governor of New Jersey sat on a plush beige couch in the Republican mayor’s condo, surrounded by Republican county officials and politicians, and offered up her plan to stem what is perhaps the state’s most daunting challenge — its deepening property tax crisis. She adopted it, she said, from an unexpected source. “This is a page out of the Democratic playbook, it really is,” Kim Guadagno, the lieutenant governor said, noting that the plan came from a proposal in deep-blue Illinois.

With Republicans controlling the White House, both chambers of Congress and having successfully fended off Democratic challenges in four special elections this year, the party is enjoying a dominance not seen for decades and has left the Democrats divided and demoralized. But as they’ve blazed a trail turning many parts of the country red, Republicans in traditionally blue states, like New Jersey, are facing longer odds than ever.

Well, a dishonest, lying, fraudulent, immoral, traitorous person would have a chance of winning office in New Jersey, no matter for which party (s)he ran.

Anyone who believes in the United States Constitution as written, hard work, earning your way and eschewing handouts is a Radical Rightwinger to the msm(=radical Left).

2/3 of the GOP is moderate to leftist.

Rare species often go extinct for a reason.

Rare? RINOs are as rare in NJ as Hepatitis is at the gay pride parade.

Of course in that northeast sewer, Crispy Kreme was an arch-conservative.

I’m in NJ and would happily take any RINO over a hardcore NE liberal Democrat.

Combine, McCleary, and Florio all did their part to f—k up this state.

Murphy’s election would be the final bullet to the head.

RINOs like Kean, Whitman, DiFrancesco, Stay Puft and Guagdano are the reason why Democrats like Flim Flam Florio, McSleazy, Corslime and Corslime Junior (Murphy) get elected.

True, but those RINOS won. A hardcore conservative like a Bret Schundler can’t win in NJ.

A DiFrancesco or a Christie type can.

The NYT calls her, a Republican, moderate. That means almost surely that she is pretty far over on the left end of the political spectrum and is probably indistinguishable form a left Democrat. There are left and right Democrats, the Sanders and the Clintobama wings.

Schundler was willfully and deliberately sabotaged by the Whitman-DiFrancesco cabal (and let’s face it, Whitman has been nothing but a Deep State Democrat agent). They all but handed the state back to the Democrats and that ultraleft fag vermin McGreevey on a silver platter. A smart state party would’ve been championing a Republican like Schundler for Governor and Senator (if not President) after his successful turn-around of a no man’s land like Jersey City. Instead, they choose to destroy him for being an outsider, just like the same tactic used against Trump, which thankfully failed.

True. They put Bob Franks to run against Schundler. Had Schundler won in 2001, there would not have been no McGreevey, or Corzine, and it is possible Schundler could have risen to President in 2008 or 2012.

However, Schundler can reenter politics and run against Bob Menendez for Senate in 2018 next year.

“2/3 of the GOP is moderate to leftist.”

And that’s being generous. The huge majority of Republicans are big government proponents; they just run as conservatives to fool the low information Republican primary voters.
