A free market would charge more if you wait until you get sick to buy coverage, correct?

You can get your check mark back for preexisting mandate overriding the states. But the reconciled bill could still have the states decide that.

The doctor supply problem is a direct result of government meddling. We are short doctors because government has made it so costly and risky that it’s no longer an attractive career path. Step one is get the government the hell out of it.

Sorry for the rant, sometimes a girl’s gotta vent!!

No problem, we girls gotta stick together.

And I don't disagree with you at all except I would prefer repeal and no replacement to a GOP plan they spent six years forgetting to put together.

The penalty is there regardless. Say I'm 21 and newly graduated and leave my parent's policy. I'm uninsured, but healthy. Two years later I get a new job that offers health insurance. Even though I am still in excellent health the insurance company can charge me the premium because I let my coverage lapse.

You can get your check mark back for preexisting mandate overriding the states. But the reconciled bill could still have the states decide that.

We're talking about the Senate bill and what's in it. When and if there is a reconciled bill then we can discuss what that includes and what it doesn't.

They had a lot of help from the AMA, insurers, and hospital corporations.

“I predict it will go through some rewrites and pass just like the House bill.”

I agree with you. These 4 Senators will voice their concerns and get some of the bill rewritten. This will only make the bill better. Whether it passes who knows. By the way the hell with the Senator from Maine and her screwball ideas. We only need 50 votes.

Better that he act like a flaming Bushtard, and support any and every expansion of the federal gov’t, such as NCLB, Medicare expansion, DHS, patriot act /s

He’s one of only a small handful of Senators making any effort to keep his oath of office.

I’m going to let your inane comment slide this time. Here is one link out of hundreds regarding subsidies to Insurer’s.

That's fine. In a free market they would not even if they can. First the employer would override them or if not the employer, another insurance company would offer some kind of discount to undo the penalty. The reason for a penalty is sick people. As harsh as it sounds, sick people who let their coverage lapse need to be penalized.

My inane comment mentioned the $15 billion in the Senate bill for each of the first two years. Your link mentions $15 billion in subsidies. Coincidence?

If that is the case why doesn’t Senate try to draft something that isn’t this sewer? Are they going native?

Well, if this doesn’t happen, NONE of the blame belongs on Trump. He is there waiting to sign, but it has to get past Rand, Cruz first.

Now it is five declared “Nos” by Republican Senators. There is going to have to be some powerful political dealings in the next week to get this to a vote unless McConnell intends to just schedule a vote and let it go down.

Most state healthcare systems make private healthcare illegal. It’s all based on “fairness.”

Nah, he’s just not going to support any BushTARD (or McCainTARD) phony-con programs.

In doing that he will save Trump from having Obamacare’s collapse blamed on his presidency.

Thank you Senator Paul for honoring your oath of office!

“decreasing number of doctors”

The majority of physicians who are still practicing are now employed by corporations and there are take-overs in the sector occurring quite often. Obamacare destroyed medicine.

I think we need a basic health care package free to everyone. Let people add to that if they want. Now you can go into a hospital with no money no insurance and get taken care of. You never are forced to pay. If you don’t have money you can’t pay anyhow. Yes I am conservative, but this whole health care bill is so silly. We are headed to a single payer system anyway. All the seniors (over 65) are on the single payer system already. Can you name one that is willing to give up their free health care? No you can’t. How about the people on SS. No you can’t. Are they conservatives on medicare and SS. Yes there are. Think about it.....
