German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Thursday that the EU’s future took priority over Brexit talks, in a rebuke to British Prime Minister Theresa May’s plans to bring the negotiations up at a Brussels summit.
“For me, the future of the (remaining) 27 member states comes before the exit negotiations with Great Britain,” said Merkel, Europe’s most influential leader, as she arrived for the two-day meeting.
“We want to conduct these negotiations in a good spirit,” she nonetheless added. …

I have never been convinced that the E.U. was supposed to last for long.
Britain did the right thing IMO.
It is only a matter of time until the E.U. breaks up.
Right now it’s playing out like a suicide pact, and innocent bystanders like Poland and others that won’t agree to commit suicide, are now persona non-gratis.
Poland might be the next to jump ship. There are two other nations that have the same right idea about moving people in from terrorist states. They may want to join Poland. Other nations will probably come to their senses too.

Merkel’s wrong...Brexit is far far more significant than the EU......I don’t believe they’ll be going back to the EU regardless of what she says.
Merkel is exceeding her authority, and the Brits who favor Brexit will likely call her out on it very clearly.

Merkel doesn’t want Germany to carry the economic weight of the Eu since the refugees are bankrupting Germany and they can’t ship them out fast enough!.....add to it the criminal element happening and the outrage the citizens have.....Merkel wants the 27 to remain in tact.....she’ll end up with ten if she’s lucky.
We should have let the Soviets have all of Germany after WW2. But still extracting Von Braun for ourselves.

When are you people going to understand that Merkel is a globalist, plain and simple? She was an East German officer during the Cold War. The citizens of her own country mean nothing to her. She is importing thousands of Africans and Middle Easterners to destroy Europe. She threw her own flag in the garbage right during an EU meeting. She’s simply a European version of Hillary Clinton.

It’s a pity Theresa May is the leader. The EU has violated its treaty so many times, any member state can declare “clausula rebus sic stantibus” and invalidate the whole thing altogether. Instead, May invoked Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon, giving credence (and negotiating power) to the EU elites.
No you’re not wrong.....Merkel’s been the lead player especially during Obama’s terms....he cozied right up to her and vice-versa. So that foot-play between the two of course would mean the other EU leaders would follow. Thus Obama also ‘secured’ Merkel’s position over the EU.
Just like she’s now got France in her back pocket....I was hoping Le Pen would have made that impossible. But the other EU nations are not buying it any more... it’s not that she is loosing power it’s that the other nation leaders are exerting their independence so she’s trying to hold that ball of wax from melting.

Merkel is still butt hurt from President Trump withdrawing from the Paris accord which I’m thankful he did. We don’t need to be involved in the scam to redistribute money we don’t even have.

They wouldn’t be importing muslims. The problem with my suggestion is it would mean continued occupation of the Eastern Europeans, the only Europeans who actually value freedom.
