I say let these states screw up their economies with this communist crap. pay the billions to anyone they want. I ok if we continue to prosper. just make sure we don’t pay the bill.

Here’s the rub - say CA makes some law mandating something on some manufactured product. Some thing they have done in the past, but now with this new treaty they take it to some extreme, like mandating E25 or higher for fuel.

That means all manufactures will have to comply with CA regulations no matter how extreme and new cars will have to have E25 rating no matter what state it is in. The CA market is just so huge that manufactures will have no other choice but to comply and so the rest of us will have to as well - they will be no other less restrictive product. So the Paris treaty will in effect be signed by the US. The only way to stop this insanity is to stop CA from going down that road. But then we need a real AG with guts, not a reclusive entitled wimp getting kudos in his declining years.

Someone needs to inform these euroweenies that we already kicked one of their kings out of the country. Why has so much death and destruction come out of Europe ? Over 2,000 years of stupid empire building.

No business or person is bound to follow any regulation created by any state which purports to follow this treaty. Any such regulation is unconstitutional and void.

Not necessarily.

For example, auto manufacturers have to meet federal mileage regulations based upon the total number of vehicles that they sell in the U.S. So auto manufacturers end up having to sell highly subsidized electric aluminum cans on wheels, which no one wants, to offset against their sales of trucks, SUVs and luxury sedans.

If California ups its regulations so that all you can buy there is electric aluminum cans on wheels, then the auto manufacturers will be able to sell most of their federally mandated supply of electric aluminum cans on wheels in California, and sell trucks, SUVs and luxury sedans in the rest of the U.S.

It is a win/win for everyone except for the poor idiots who continue to live in California and vote themselves into the poorhouse.

“THE TREASONOUS SECESSION OF CLIMATE CONFEDERACY STATES”

Didn't bother to read the article, just the ridiculous headline.

Students of history know southern leaders of the United States and Confederate States were patriots with serious ideas. Today's climate bunch are anything but.

Senators can preen and posture as the "lions of the Senate" without ever having to take responsibility for anything. AG is an executive, and he can't hide behind "senatorial civility." He should have learned his lesson the hard way after his insipid recusal.

This is all for show by both sides.

The crux of the Paris accords was a huge transfer of money from the US treasury to the “Green” fund for further distribution to international leftists.

The states can impose regulations if they want but that’s not what foreign countries were after and they won’t pay the least bit of attention no matter how badly states wish to hamstring their own industries.

Foreign countries want USA money. That’s it. Has nothing to do with climate, weather or regulations.

Can I get a side job recusing myself?

I don't know, but if you find one let me know please.

Charge and lock up the governors for attempting to subvert US foreign policy and trying to establish their own treaty.

We need a US Attorney General, first.

It would be better if the court of public opinion branded these guys as rogue governors and face them down that way.

What exactly are they going to ‘work on’. Raising the cost of their energy to ruinous levels and collecting punitive taxes from their citizens to send to fat, corrupt third world tyrants. This will drive out the few productive citizens they have left and leave nothing but economic disaster zones.

Real secession is not treason. It is a basic right.

That is what the Founding Fathers did when they seceded from Great Britain.

The politicians in those states can really F#CK the citizens of their states with taxes, regulations, licensing requirements, etc.
I am a native Californian, I know of what I speak.

Now if we could only wake up good ole jeff sessions.

He is already going to court to cut off their federal money, probably will get it through the system in 9 or 10 years.

Something has indeed changed sessions. He was a firebrand in the senate, now just a wimp, a patsy, afraid to exercise authority.

Nothing to base my opinion on but HOPE but I think ole Jefferson Beauregard realizes he’ll get but one good barrage. Thus he’s quietly building his case(s). Plotting fires if you will.
