saw a picture one time of some ROKs in Nam with a string of VC prisoners, a VERY loose rope looped around their necks walking in file
thing was, they took a couple pieces of wood and wrapped a wire around one then poked it through their left hand, through both cheeks then through their right hand and wrapped it around the second piece of wood
i guess the rope was simply to keep them in line...

The ROK Marines in Vietnam did not play. They knew how to handle a war against commies and were not afraid. They had first hand knowledge and were not scared to use it, unlike our "Leaders" at the time. Rules of engagement is not in their vocabulary.
As a Marine I trained with the ROK Marines. They were some non stop training Marines and I will tell you in a lot of ways ways they put us to shame. But that was a while back. The 80's.
