Russia Probe: The latest "bombshell" report — at least in the minds of journalists — is that special counsel Robert Mueller is allegedly investigating whether President Trump obstructed justice. The significance of this is open to debate.
Based on unnamed sources (naturally), the Washington Post reported late Wednesday — in a story ominously headlined "Special counsel is investigating Trump for possible obstruction of justice " — that Mueller is "interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe," and that this "marks a major turning point" in the investigation.
But even the Trump-hating New York Times was more careful than the hyperventilating Post in how it framed the story, saying the interviews were only "hinting" at such an inquiry.
In any case, it's hardly surprising that Mueller would talk to these officials. Democrats and the press have been screaming about obstruction nonstop since former FBI Director James Comey's testimony, which, they said, "laid out a road map for an obstruction charge."

I want to give you grudging credit, try to do two good things this month.

The onus is on Mueller to keep the investigation tightly focused and thoroughly buttoned up, and to do his work quickly.
No. The purpose of Mueller is to hold this investigation open and indite someone, anyone, October 2018 to help the DNC. Just like he’s stuffed the investigation with DNC and Clinton Foundation donors. The fact Mueller is a long time associate and friend of Comey, yet doesn’t recuse himself, speaks to his inherent lack of integrity in this investigation.
Here is one thing you can bet on. Mueller’s investigation will *never* ask to examine the DNC server at the core of this so-called Russia hack.
Mueller was FBI Director at the time but didn’t find it worthy to look into obama collusion with the Iraqis ........

I agree. That is outside the family of bogus investigations opened by Team Comey. Mueller's scope of review is stated as parallel to Comey's March 20 testimony ...

I find the key scope narrowing phrase in there to be "links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government." That investigation is broad just because there are many people in the "individuals associated with the Trump campaign" group. However, suspicion may be focused on just a few people. I think I've heard a grand total of 8 or so names, never all of them listed in one go.
It is an article of faith among the hoi polloi that the Russians interfered "unusually" or "in clandestine ways" with the 2016 presidential election. I don't accept that conclusion myself, but even if it is true, that doesn't create an association with the Trump campaign. Even if assumed true for hypothetical purposes that the Russian government worked in clandestine ways intending to FAVOR Trump for hypothetical purposes, that doesn't create an association with the Trump campaign.
The MSM, the democrats, and the Republicans have ginned up a real conflagration based on a complete hoax. It is not without precedent in our country — a hideous civil war was ginned up by malcontents.
The article and presumable the preservation order names five people. Two lists in this post, the other being drawn from questions posed to AG Sessions last week. There is some overlap in the lists of names.
Paul Manafort, and his business partner, Rick Gates; the former foreign policy adviser Carter Page; and the former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn. ... The memorandum also names Roger J. Stone Jr.
I take it that this is the ENTIRE beginning scope of Team Mueller's investigation.
Names listed by Senator Manchin during the Sessions hearing, last week:
Paul Manafort, Steve Bannon, General Michael Flynn, Reince Priebus, Steve Miller, Corey Lewandowski, and Carter Page.
I can only speculate why Senator Manchin listed Bannon, Priebus, Miller and Lewandowski. Maybe misdirection for the public.
At any rate, in ALL of the reporting I've seen, only a handful of names pop up. In the March 20 House hearing, some are fixated on Tillerson, Manafort, Page, Stone, and Flynn. J.D. Gordon and Walid Phares are mentioned, Michael Caputo and Wilbur Ross too.

For the last 7 months there has been the “supposedly bombshell” revelation that has fizzled into nothing. Anonymous sources that whisper unproven innuendos, former Obama administrators who are proven liars making unsubstantiated claims, people sifting through tons of information looking for something-anything-that will prove their wild allegations. This is McCarthyism-trying to destroy Trump with whispers and false allegations.
How much is this nonsense costing the American taxpayer for nothing? Our congressmen and Senators should be held accountable for this waste.

I don't want Mueller looking at the DNC server, or Hillary, etc. I don't trust him any more than McCabe, to bury wrongdoing.
My take on Mueller is that he is was put in place to expedite the closing of bogus investigations started by Comey. Comey's gone, but investigations don't disappear on their own. Rosenstein took Comey's bogus investigations out of the FBI; gave the DEMs what they asked for to boot.
When do we go?
I thought Mueller was supposed to “investigate” a Trump/Russia “connection”. Can he investigate anything he wants? Will he investigate Trump’s dog pooping on the WH lawn? How about a Clinton/Russia connection?
The story may actually be a red herring to disguise the real story that the obstruction of justice investigation is against miss Loretta.
