US clothing brand Abercrombie and Fitch has attracted an online backlash with a tweet seen by many as implying Gay Pride is not just for gay people.
The tweet, which has since been deleted, read: "The Pride community is everybody, not just LGBTQ people. - Kayla, merchandiser."
Twitter critic Zeus Tipado compared the brand's behaviour to opponents of the Black Lives Matter movement, who dismiss evidence of racial inequality with the slogan "All Lives Matter".
"LGBTQ just got the All Lives Matter treatment," he rued

Your post caused me to look up their history. Essentially, the original company shut its doors in 1977...and another company bought the name and mailing list in 1978. Today’s company really has absolutely nothing to do with the original. I had no idea.
The MAD TV spoofs they did on Abercrombie are probably more truthful than some care to admit.
I loved shopping in Chicago’s Abercrombie And Fitch Co. many years ago. They had such good golf stuff and skying stuff. I’d spend a lot of time looking and picking out. So much fun.
