Skip to comments.Chris Matthews Admits: The Theory Of Collusion Between Trump And Russia Came Apart Today

Via the Free Beacon, this is unexpected. MSNBC is Collusion Central, which is why its ratings are exploding. Matthews admitting that there’s no apparent “there” there on that network is like Hannity saying “gee, Trump sure did behave improperly” on Fox.
Matthews marvels that it sounds from Comey’s testimony like Flynn doesn’t have the goods on Trump after all. We already knew that, though, didn’t we? Flynn is reportedly seeking immunity but the feds aren’t interested (so far). If he had something that might take down the president, his lawyer would have made that known to prosecutors and immunity would be a much more attractive proposition. Any dirt Flynn has on Trump may be no worse than Trump having put him up to talking with Russia in December, which led to the fateful phone call with the Russian ambassador. That would be sketchy insofar as it would mean the incoming president was trying to undermine the sanctions that the outgoing president had just slapped on a foreign power for interfering in the campaign. But Trump could rebut that by pointing to the fact that those sanctions remain in place today, and of course he’d argue that there’s no great sin in a soon-to-be president getting a jump on diplomacy with other nations.
Related to that point, watch the second clip below of Lindsey Graham reasoning that Bob Mueller must have reason to believe that there’s no case to be made against Trump for obstruction of justice or else he’d never let Comey, his would-be star witness, get grilled under oath by senators. I think he’s overstating that argument: Mueller’s investigation has only just begun and he knows Comey to be a smart and careful lawyer in fielding questions. But his point is worth considering. If Trump’s critics want to get him on collusion, they may be stuck with in-plain-sight stuff — encouraging Russia during the campaign to “find” Clinton’s emails, touting Wikileaks repeatedly during the final few weeks before the election, and betraying no patriotic concern at all that he may have benefited electorally from Vladimir Putin’s info ops. Trump’s not going to jail for any of that. But he’ll suffer politically for it forever.

GAME SET MATCH..even Looney Liberal Chrissy Tingle Up His Leg Matthews has to admit that this was a HUGE nothingburger..meanwhile, there was REAL Collusion between Loretta Lynch, Bill Clinton, and the DOJ..investigate THAT
If you lost Chris Matthews......
Read the headlines here at the Star & Tribune. Flat out lying. http://www.startribune.com
The “Russia collusion/interference” investigation has been ongoing since July, 2016...
Either The United States of America intelligence agencies are as worthless as the Keystone Kops or...
There was absolutely NO collusion/interference...
If they could not find ANYTHING in 11 months, there is none....
WOW! For all the hype and hoopla, even Tingles admits what a big nothing the Comey hearings turned out to be. This craptacular was more pathetic than Whorealdo revealing the “secrets” of Al Capone’s safe, and Rachel Madcow getting the goods on Pres Trump with his tax return.
Hate to be Chrissy when Mr. Maddow hunts him down.
But there DEFINITELY was COLLUSION between Comey & Loretta Lynch. Look up the definition of collusion & their meeting & agreement met that definition.
And, funny thing, Comey apparently didn’t write a memo to document THAT meeting.
I got the impression for a while they gave that argument up as they had and have nothing to show that(beyond some claims of phone calls by Trump associates) , so they moved on to the argument that firing Comey is ‘Obstruction of justice’.
No underlying crime?
They don’t care.
They say they don’t need one.
Trump firing Comey to keep him from finding and reporting Trump+Co’s hidden crimes, a lib just argued that to me today.
Not a fan of Chris but good for him on this. It seems to me like president has won this. Smarter democrats realize this is a time and energy sink and meanwhile Trumpism is taking hold. hahah I said smarter democrats - oh vey, now whos living in fantasyland! Its time for a beer
It should be quite apparent to anyone with even half a brain, that Comey’s actions and words, indicate that he himself hated Trump and was targeting Trump to find any charges to hang on him.
Why else would he not have told the world by now that, Trump was not being investigated regarding the Trump/Russia collusion scheme?
Why else would he, Comey, make sure that he kept notes regarding Trump? He wanted to, again, hit Trump with some charge of obstruction of justice, and his only problem was that it would have been a case of “he said, he said”. Otherwise, why would he keep notes about his conversations and meeting with Trump, while he didn’t do the same with Obama and Lynch and Hillary?
Why would he “leak” his memo to his buddy for further leaking to the NY Times? He was looking to get Trump charged with something, anything. Comey was being defensive because Trump didn’t trust him, and Trump had very good reason to not trust Comey; not after how Comey treated the indictable offenses by Lynch and Hillary and Bill Clinton.
Comey didn’t like Trump, and his body language and actual words, “indicted” himself, and Trump had to remove Trump. Good riddance to a phony and biased FBI “leader”.
Somebody should launch an investigation into Comey, because he has proven to be as corrupt as any person in government can get.
The editors who signed off on that front page are lying scum.
My head hurts
Covfefe on him!!!
“This is the end, beautiful friend. This is the end, my only friend, the end. Of Rat’s elaborate plans, the end.”
And a nation full of trump voters and patriots are all saying Good Riddance. - Yay for the new director. Why hasn't the Senate confirmed yet, lol
The feeling of a wet noodle working it’s way up from his pantleg back into his shorts....
Serves this schmuck right
