I'm an old Army guy who doesn't know much about the Navy but my late BIL,who *was* Navy (long ago),once told me that some guys would have nicknames...sometimes irreverent ones...for the ships on which they sailed aboard.

I wonder if guys sailing on this one might name it The Brain Damage....

The short answer is no. Giffords did nothing heroic or memorable other than to survive a gunshot to the head which left her an even more bitter leftist than she already was.

They’d be better off naming the ship “Titanic” than “Giffords”. No self-respecting sailor will feel good about serving on it and I’m sure it will quickly get a nickname most sailors refer to it as like the “Gabby Loon” or something.
