Europeans should be allowed to carry weapons to defend themselves.

After the horrible jihad attack in Paris on November 13, 2015, in which more than a hundred people were killed, Donald J. Trump – the future president of the USA – said: “You can say what you want, but our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry it would’ve been a much, much different situation.”

And of course, Trump was right. To bloodthirsty jihadis, Europe is a heavenly slaughterhouse full of unarmed infidels. At the music club Bataclan in Paris, people had to watch their friends and partners suffer unspeakable horrors. The jihadis tortured people with knives, men and women had their genitals stabbed, and some victims had their bellies cut open and their intestines pulled out before they were executed. The unarmed citizens were powerless against the jihadis.

He seems reluctant to defend himself. But luckily he is armed.

Were he not armed he would have been assaulted and beaten and perhaps killed.

This is why we need a Second Amendment.

This is why liberals want all ordinary citizens unarmed and vulnerable.

Why?? The Europeans always have the Swiss example in their midst, and historically, some other nations have a largely positive history with firearms outside the "modern" period. And after all, the British Empire was where "our" original thinking on firearms rights came from.

I would like to think people in the E.U. need a Second Amendment, but I have begun to question if they have the will to live free.

Here’s an example of what their collective opinions seem to be. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I’m not convinced of that by a long shot.

They keep electing people who are supporting policies that will wind up being extremely destructive.

It will never happen.

The United States was founded upon the revolutionary ideal that power is vested in the people who granted very limited powers to the government.

In Europe power is vested in the state and very limited powers are granted to the people.

We are citizens. Europeans are still subjects.

A couple of months ago, Czech President Milos Zeman made an unusual request: He urged citizens to arm themselves against a possible “super-Holocaust” carried out by Muslim terrorists.

Never mind that there are fewer than 4,000 Muslims in this country of 10 million people — gun purchases spiked. One shop owner in East Bohemia, a region in the northern center of the Czech Republic, told a local paper that people were scared of a “wave of Islamists.”

Now the country’s interior ministry is pushing a constitutional change that would let citizens use guns against terrorists. Proponents say this could save lives if an attack occurs and police are delayed or unable to make their way to the scene. To become law, Parliament must approve the proposal; they’ll vote in the coming months.
