Belonging to the popular group, the right cliques, the “in” crowd, matters far more than actual achievement. “Sure, I set the state record for actual females, but I lost to someone whom everyone bows to in PC worship, so therefore, I’m a Good Person for humbly accepting second place to a (fake) hero (and obvious cheater).”
Can you imagine training to compete at that level, then some guy (who can’t win his own class) steps in and blows away the field??? I certainly don’t feel sorry for the virtue-signalers unless they speak up for themselves. Maybe this is the mugging they needed to wake up a little.
Maybe they'll start caring when there are no more girls' sports?
The irony here is so thick. Once upon a time, feminists claimed to care about women's rights and equality; now they can't bring themselves to care one iota when girls are being displaced by men in girls' sports. I have to wonder how else women will be marginalized, without the "feminists" batting an eye.
