On the eve of the Arab-Israeli war, 50 years ago this week, Israeli officials raced to assemble an atomic device and developed a plan to detonate it atop a mountain in the Sinai Peninsula as a warning to Egyptian and other Arab forces, according to an interview with a key organizer of the effort that will be published Monday.
The secret contingency plan, called a doomsday operation by Itzhak Yaakov, the retired brigadier general who described it in the interview, would have been invoked if Israel feared it was going to lose the 1967 conflict. The demonstration blast, Israeli officials believed, would intimidate Egypt and surrounding Arab states Syria, Iraq and Jordan into backing off.
Israel won the war so quickly that the atomic device was never moved to Sinai. But Mr. Yaakovs account, which sheds new light on a clash that shaped the contours of the modern Middle East conflict, reveals Israels early consideration of how it might use its nuclear arsenal to preserve itself.
Its the last secret of the 1967 war, said Avner Cohen, a leading scholar of Israels nuclear history who conducted many interviews with the retired general.

They now have thermonuclear (”H Bombs”) as well as nuclear weapons.
I would like Israel to use them preemptively. The vanishment of Mecca stops the fifth Pillar of Islam, the Hajj. It would prove its so called "prophet" is false and half of Islam would die right there. The rest would rage angrily and be mowed down. You promise to kill me, I don't wish you well. You can coexist in H3ll.
Thanks in large part to B Hussein Obama, Israel will no longer be the sole nuclear power in the Middle East in the very near future. Once Iran goes nuclear, they will be exploring their options to use their nuclear weapons against Israel, in an attempt to not only destroy Israel, but to humiliate the Arab countries, which have never been able to beat Israel in a conventional war. The Middle East will reach a boiling point in the very near future.
Germany sold them several submarines which they use as missile boats.
I like the idea, but nuking a city in Saudi Arabia might not be a smart move for us to deal with. Things would have to be fairly sideways to justify that.
“...The Middle East will reach a boiling point in the very near future.”

The rapid deterioration of relations between Saudi Arabia & Qatar today are supportive of your statement. Lines are being drawn.
Well recall Nixon was planning on nuking the dikes on the Red River and flooding the valley as well as Haiphong.
Think 3000 dead in NYC and the twin towers down would be more then enough justification to show the Moon God people that they believe in a 1400 year old fantasy.
***Well recall Nixon was planning on nuking the dikes ***
Don’t laugh. I worked with a man who was in the rangers, and once he told of the pressures on him during the war.
All he would say was...
“What if you were carrying a portable nuclear bomb on your back behind enemy lines, and knew YOU might be the person who starts a nuclear war.” The he shut up and said no more.
Shortly before that boiling point, Israel should nuke Iran's most productive oil and gas fields. That is, those without major entanglements with big foreign powers like Russia and China, who have partnerships in producing the fields. Oil and gas account for up to 80 percent of Iran's foreign currency earnings and 60 percent of government revenue. Nuking some of Iran's oil and gas fields will cause turmoil in Iran and will make them back off of their belligerent status with Israel. If they don't, then Israel can target their industrial sites (including nuke production facilities). Hitting Iran with nukes will serve notice to other middle east nations to leave Israel be.
The Samson Effect
Option, not effect. The word you were looking for is "option".
By Seymour Hersh.
For effect see: Hair growth club for men?
To justify it after the fact is an exercise in futility. The action would speak for itself. Then we move along from there without the Islamic threat. Did anyone cry for the Axis? Everyone fears the bully until he is toppled and then everyone sighs in relief. This has been going on for 1,400 years. It is time to end it now with the press of a button.
They never tested them. They do not need to. It was our designs.
The widespread use of h-bombs on Muslim population centers ought to be on the table. It’s a debate worth having in the conservative/patriotic community. Libtards, of course, would be horrified. But they are increasingly irrelevant.
The hajj would still occur even to a large glowing hole in the ground.
Isn’t what led to the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty the real last secret of the 1967 war?
Samson? Hair Club for Men? BRILLIANT!
Talk about a burning bush!
