HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Connecticut lawmakers were working at the State Capitol on Friday in the final days of the session.
Democrats said they were finding it harder to get bills passed, now that Republicans have more seats and carry more weight.
"They said they wanted to lead. They told the voters in the state of Connecticut give us more seats and we will be at the table, House Speaker Joe Aresimowicz said. And you know what we have heard, we will offer no votes."

Just borrow some money from Puerto Rico.
Democrats have driven this state into the ground. Don’t know how it can recover.

“Over 60 percent of those who use our roads, don’t fill up for gas, state Rep. Tony Guerrera, who is the co-chair of the transportation committee, said. They drive right through and don’t spend a dime. And yet you and I and everyone else has to pay to fix those roads.”

This is why we fought so hard against an income tax in Tennessee. Politicians promise to lower the sales tax in exchange for a small income tax. But eventually they raise both the income tax and the sales tax.
Check that, CT is the highest taxed state in the union when cost of living is factored in.
So true. In fact, I would fill up in Pa. so I could skip NY, CT, and MA to get to the NH or VT border.

CT is dying, the panhandle will be fine the rest of the state will decline slow but sure.
Were you there? Tom Scott would have been a good governor. Rowland was okay, not great, but I think CT might surprise in 2018... I think the municipal election this year will be the start of an uprising.
The obvious answer is to raise taxes so the state will have more money. Those greedy voters are trying to keep too much of the state’s money.
Exactly. BTW a big bingo to your byline.
