Blue Cracks: Dems Finally Break Through, Flip Legislative Seats in Two Special Elections
Townhall.com ^ | May 24, 2017 | Guy Benson

Up until now, the Democratic Party had gone 0-for-6 in Trump-era attempts to win GOP-held legislative seats, with Republicans actually adding to their tally in Louisiana. That changed in two northeastern states last night, where democrats won a pair of races, both of which must be considered significant upsets:

The GOP is worried that Trump will drag down the Republican Party but that is after the GOP went 6-0, keeping Dems from flipping those seats.

There’s nothing to see here, just Democrats winning in blue states.

If the GOP continues to F away the time with no major legislation, and simultaneously bark like liberal trained seals each time the media sticks a mic in their faces for comment on the latest MSM created Trump controversy, they will deserve to lose it all.

They can prevent losing it, if they man up and move on Trump’s priorities and budget, and tell the media wankers to pound sound. A miracle of rediscovered GOP manhood, however, is unlikely.

Ignorance is bliss, I guess. In NH, the district had never been won by a democrat and in NY, Trump won the district with 60% of the vote. These are state races, but still be aware of what this may mean. First, for the dems to win the midterms, they need good candidates and if the president is strong, good challengers tend to pass on races, leaving it to the B candidates. A weak president tends to attract strong candidates in the other party and the dems are recruiting some strong candidates in some districts, so that is something to be aware of.

Too bad, no one bothers to defend Trump at all, even in his own party. Despite denial, a 24/7 drum beat of everything negative does take a toll and does harm.

New Hampshire and New York. Both seats are traditionally solid GOP.

One of these districts was never won by a Democrat in history! The other was a district Trump won by 60 points!

This is not surprising to me. MSNBC is number one. CNN is number two. The left is much more active online than they were prior to the election. They are showing up to the Townhalls, and we allow our Reps to get abused as our people aren’t showing up. Our people are not fighting back. I did a whole article on it and what Trump’s people can do (posted in my tagline).

We are not on the offense, the media is controlling the narrative, and the feckless Republicans are acting as they usually do (virture signaling to the media and undermining Trump). If they can’t get things done, they will show they can’t govern. If Trump’s people don’t go on the offense and take control of the narrative, this Russia spin and the relentless media attacks will hurt him.

If citizens are this easily swayed/duped, Republic restoration will not come from working within the system. They deserve their tyranny.

Add to it that Fox is seemingly a hot mess right now, the GOP House is moving like a sloth on Quaaludes, and the GOP senators are haing a contest to see who can undermine Trump the quickest....

Trump is going to have to go to war with his own party to save it.

“Dismissing these as minor blue state losses is spin. Trump’s single-digit margin in the New Hampshire district might suggest that it’s a swing seat, but it’s not: Democrats had never won it before last night.”

They said that about this race in 2009:
“New York’s 23rd congressional district has historically been one of the most Republican districts in the United States. The district’s seat had been in Republican hands since 1873.”

Absolutely - nothing done legislatively except that bill to extend the government that gave Schumer and Pelosi everything they wanted.

Trump’s instincts were right. He should have started with tax reform. Let the Democrats own healthcare as it goes under.

If the GOP would push back against the media, refuse to comment about Russia, and get things done, AND if Trump’s media team would go on the offense, they could turn things around. Trump has allowed establishment people into his orbit. It’s time to purge them, bring in people who support him and won’t leak, and take control of the narrative.

The one seat had never been won by a Democrat. Trump won the other district by 60 points.

Agreed. Anything the ‘pubs pass, this President will sign. It’s beyond belief that they’re so spiteful and so hateful of their voting fodder that they refuse to govern.
