Boo Hoo! Charitable organizations which resettle refugees forced to raise private funds
refugeeresettlementwatch ^ | May 13, 2017 | Ann Corcoran

You have probably seen them—bushels of stories about how the nine federal resettlement contractors are wailing and moaning as Trump cuts off their refugee/money flow—but I was surprised that the Wall Street Journal didn’t do a little better job of putting it all in perspective.

For new readers like Nancy, here are the nine federal resettlement contractors (aka Volags, short for Voluntary Agencies, Ha! Ha!) that make up the “refugee-resettlement industry:”

The WSJ does make it clear that these NON-Profit groups (six are ostensibly religious groups) are paid by the head to place refugees in your towns and get them signed up for their stuff. For the first few years that I wrote this blog, mainstream media never mentioned that fact! So, yes, their budgets will vary as they have become almost completely dependent on federal money for their salaries/benefits, office rental, travel, etc.

For them to be whining that they have to raise private money for their ‘religious’ charitable work as refugee numbers vary makes me want to scream. When the Refugee Act of 1980 became law it was supposed to be a public-private partnership, but as the years have passed, federal funding (and state and local funding!) has become a greater and greater share.

Before I give you the latest whine-fest from the WSJ, here is how the contractors got in to this pickle. Obama set the CEILING for FY17 at 110,000 in his final months in office. The WSJ tells us it was the highest ceiling since 1995. Thus the contractors were building their budgets on a pipe dream of more paying clients (aka refugees) than they have had for years and years.

The N/P secretly place in our communities, refugees from hellholes---places where they crap in a hole in the ground---and suddenly the refugees are in the money.

THE TAX-PAID US GOVT CASH HAUL IS HUGE they cash multiple US govt checks under several identities in all off these categories:

UI, SSI, Workmen's Comp,

TANF (temporary assistance to needy families),

WICS (food assistance),

subsidized Section 8 shelter,

ObamaPhone subsidies,

Utility Assistance subsidies,

School breakfasts/lunches/snacks subsidies,

$5000 a year EITC checks per identity.

A 21,000 dollar stipend from HHS.

Not to mention falsifying EBT apps claiming "need"---buying non-food items w/ tax dollars.

Falsifying sub-prime mtg apps---flipping the houses among themselves for a big profit---then skipping town---leaving the banks holding the bag.

And on and on and on...ad infinitum, ad nauseaum.

THE BETTER QUESTION IS THE COST TO TAXPAYERS?

DO THIS NOW---CONTACT CONGRESS HERE

DEMAND CONGRESS SEND YOU THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

HOW DO SANCTUARY CITIES DISPERSE FEDERAL TAX DOLLARS?

<><> How many tax dollars were allocated "to protect Americans from illegal felons"?

<><> How many tax dollars were spent "to secure and manage our borders," and "reduce the number of illegal immigrants and amount of contraband getting into the United States"?

<><> How many tax dollars were spent to "enforce and administer immigration laws"?

<><> How many tax dollars were spent "to provide safe and secure detention of illegal immigrants in federal custody if they are a flight risk or a public safety concern"?

Getting tired of paying illegals. These organizations would do well to help send them back instead of using my taxes for the freeloaders.

Though they are officially “non-profit” organizations, Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, and several other Christian organizations are profiting from lucrative contracts with the federal government to resettle refugees in the United States.

Of the 100,000 refugees resettled in the United States in 2014 under the Refugee Resettlement program, an estimated 40 percent were Muslims.

In FY 2015, the State Department, through the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration and the Office of Refugee Resettlement, spent more than $1 billion on these programs, which settled international refugees “vetted” by the United Nations High Commission on International Refugees in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The federal government spent hundreds of millions of dollars more than that on refugees, however. The Department of Health and Human Services also provided a number of “entitlements” to these refugees....including a 21,000 dollar stipend for each refugee.

Yep, not to mention fly them in to airports in the middle of the night, so the general public is oblivious. It is completely evil and treasonous.

A tax ID number is helpful on GuideStar.

It is interesting to see how much the CEOs are paid.

I live in a suburb of a Northeastern city populated by very wealthy "progressives" (sadly,*I* am not wealthy).Recently, while walking to the train station I saw this very sign in the front yard of a house that I passed.

Immediately I wondered if they'd have the same attitude toward a family from Tennessee who had a pickup featuring a Trump bumper sticker,a NASCAR decal and a Confederate flag decal on the back window.

Excellent question.I resemble that remark!

Having lived my entire life in the Northeast I found myself at Fort Knox starting BCT in '69.As it turns out most of the guys in my company were from Tennessee,Mississippi and Texas...my first exposure ever to Southerners.

At first I thought to myself..."yikes,I'm not sure I'm gonna like this".But everything turned out fine...at least in terms of my fellow recruits (the drill sergeants...maybe not).

The point is that while "progressives"(most of whom live on the coasts) claim to love everybody and hate nobody the fact is that they hate at least as much as we do....just different groups.
