RIYADH, Saudi Arabia On the first stop of his inaugural foreign trip, President Donald Trump signed his name Saturday to a nearly $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia effective immediately plus another $350 billion over the next 10 years.
The White House trumpeted the agreement as a "significant expansion" of the two nation's "security relationship" that includes promises for future defense capabilities to support Saudi Arabia's defense needs.

Does McCain get a piece of the action or does he lose out because Trump did the deal?
McCain is persona non grata.
With or without a cut for McCain, I am sure the deep military-industry complex swamp is extremely pleased.
I can hear the manufacturing and defense industries cheering from here
#MAGA
Wow! What a change. Obama gave away billions of taxpayer dollars for nothing in return, Trump , sells billions in US products for the taxpayer to make money. This is a classic difference between socialism and capitalism, between liberalism and conservatism.
If he’s not complaining he got a piece of the action.
It’s a counterweight to Iran, I suppose.
But, how’s this fit for the Israelis?
I hope they’re not buying any airliners.
Let’s see, Saudi’s ability to thwart Iran is increased, reducing US expense protecting Middle East. At the same time, our factories are humming generating GDP and jobs. And SA becomes more dependent on strong relationship with US. More winning.
The democrats and RINOs will attack Trump as usual. McCain must be pitching a tent over the arms deal, but will still criticize.
That said, the Saudis are good customers. They pay cash big chunks up front. They don't engage in as much shopping around letters of request as some counties do. They also do not submit letters of request without knowing if they can afford the purchase.
McCain only does penny ante stuff with terrorists out of their garages. Both this deal, and the peace conference Trump is attending, will drive a stake through McCain's buddies.
and the dollars come back home. the cycle is complete.
I get what is in for Saudi Arabia. What’s in it for us besides a promise to defend the a nation little better than North Korea when it comes to treatment of regular people?
Bringing bucks back home has got to be good, to balance all the money we’ve sent there. But its distasteful to arm the Saudis. Very distasteful. A thoroughly disgusting people.
The Donald does the impossible he brings home the Bacon from Saudi Arabia. This guy makes things happen.
I believe that Trump’s visit to Saudi will become a total success in terms of American jobs and a normalization of Islamic action throughout the world. This is an occasion for the POTUS to explain to the muslims that it is to their advantage to become less aggressive to the West because only then will it be able to join the family of nations on this planet. They must totally reject Mohammed’s command to subdue all non-muslim nations. All in all DJT’s trip to Saudi will result in long-lasting positive effects on world politics. His will be a MAGA trip.(All this BS of women not being allowed to drive in Saudi is insignificant — there are more important things in this world than driving a car.)Trump will be eligible to receive a Nobel Peace Prize which he will never get.
To ark the Saudis is to control them...parts and ammo aren’t made in Saudi. If we didn’t sell weapons to them, Putin would...and he would control them.
Well, like the article said, what’s in it for us is $350 billion dollars added to our economy—hardly an inconsiderable amount. Additionally, the Saudis are currently fighting ISIS, which wants the House of Saud removed to make way for the Islamic Caliphate. Trump wants the Saudis to step up their attacks on ISIS so we can have a better chance of wiping them out.
Saudia Arabia also stands as a big counterweight to their Shia enemies in Iran, a country that considers us the “great Satan” and wants to wipe Israel from the face of the map. The Saudis even seem open to helping with creating “safe zones” in Syria like Trump discussed during the campaign from what I heard on Fox a few weeks ago.
