If Robert Mueller truly embraces a fidelity to the law and all its attendant principles of ethics, then he should disqualify himself from serving as Special Counsel.
Anything less threatens to subvert the rule of law and the trust Americans must have in their system of justice.

Didn’t Comey work directly under Mueller at one time?

As I recall, the first Whitewater special counsel (Fiske) didn’t last more than a few months before Ken Starr replaced him. So it could happen again if any conflicts of interest pop up.

Typical gambit to stretch out the “investigation”. Benefit the Demo-rats because of the “seriousness of the issue”. They don’t care that it is bogus and already denied.

‘Eminently’, NOT ‘imminently’.
Some lawyer. I wouldn’t hire him to represent me.

Doesn’t anyone look at these things BEFORE they make the appointment?
Or did they?
Did they intentionally look for someone sympathetic to Comey’s position?

Kimberly Strassel, who had excellent columns laying out Comey's unfitness before he was fired, has a column in the WSJ today about Mueller. She doesn't go as far as Gregg Jarrett but is clearly worried about Mueller's ties to Comey.
To: Jane Long
That does it.
We should now regard this investigation as null and void.

So is Sessions stupid or did he know this and is putting pressure on Mueller to follow the law not his friendship?

So first Sessions punts, then his deputy punts to Mueller, who picks up the ball in order to take revenge for the firing of his good friend, Comey, who also punted, but on the Clinton investigation.
What a nest of vipers the whole of Washington, DC and its assorted hangers on is.
I am beyond both sad and furious that our nation has been brought so low. I would fight back if I knew how. Calling my senators and representative isn't going to help.

One would believe that Asst AG Rosinstein (sp?) knew of Mueller's close working friendship with Comey before hand. What's up with Rosenstien? This gets smellier by the day

Why is it seem that our conservative Republican bunch always jumps right out of the frying pan and into the fire. Are we that stupid? No wonder we keep getting knocked down.
To: Jane Long
Well, that is clearly not going to Happen. All of this was known in advance and Mueller has reportedly now resigned from his law firm to take on the SP duties full time. This looks like Rosenstein has made a biased selection in Mueller and now the almost limitless resources of a SP will be turned on Trump and all of his staff.
