WILLCOX – Border Patrol agents assigned to the Willcox Station apprehended a male United States citizen for attempting to smuggle 10 Mexican nationals.

Thursday afternoon an agent spotted two suspicious vehicles driving east on Apache Pass Road near Bowie. The agent followed one of the vehicles, a Chevy Silverado, to the parking lot of a convenience store. The agent consensually walked up to the vehicle and talked to the front passenger while the driver was in front of the truck. During the conversation, the agent determined the passenger was illegally present in the United States. The agent also observed four people lying in the truck’s rear floor area. Other agents arrived to assist and found five more people in the bed of the truck, under a black tonneau hard cover which could only be opened from the outside.

During an immigration inspection, agents determined 10 of the occupants were illegally present in the United States. All individuals are being processed in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines. The driver faces human smuggling charges while the illegal aliens are being processed for immigration violations.

Lock ‘em up or send ‘em back. Do not let them have freedom in our country.

The road to Apache Pass leads to Fort Bowie and was the Butterfield Trail. The Butterfield Trail was the route of the Overland Mail, the first contract for moving the mail across the continent. The trail ran from Memphis to San Francisco. The trip took an average of 21 days.

It is slated to be a National Historic Trail and following it is a great adventure in American history and includes some very interesting 900 miles across Texas.

This is a daily thing all along the border. Seldom reported. Drugs and illegals caught at the legal border crossings/Port of Entries are reported with media releases by Customs and Border Protection. Drugs and illegals caught crossing between Port of entries are not included on media releases.

Twelve undocumented immigrants who were piled into a fake border patrol vehicle were caught by a real border patrol agent, officials said, in a smuggling attempt a Border Patrol chief called a "desperate measure."

When an agent noticed a "suspicious looking government vehicle" on Thursday, he pulled the car over and found 12 undocumented immigrants crammed inside, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Friday.

"To a casual observer, the cloned vehicle appeared to be a law enforcement vehicle conducting official business, but to the observant Border Patrol agent something was not quite right," Customs and Border Protection said in a statement released today. "After further investigation, the agents determined that the four-door vehicle had been cloned to look like an official Border Patrol vehicle in an attempt to conceal a human smuggling attempt."

Must have been a little pickup. Most can hold at least 40 illegals.

Now we've got pickup trucks running amok and breaking laws!

Must have been one of those newfangled driver-less self driving pickup trucks.
