The International Institute for Strategic Studies has published its annual Armed Conflict Survey, assessing the impact of wars around the world. It is no surprise that the highest level of deadly violence last year was in Syria.

However, the second most lethal conflict was recorded in Mexico, where more than 20,000 people were killed in violence fuelled by the nations powerful drug cartels. How has the situation become quite so bad?

Maybe they shouldn’t have kicked out the French.

How has the situation become quite so bad?

We could always ask their weapons supplier, Eric Holder and the ATF.

Drug cartels control everything.

Police, Military, Politicians.

They just fight over control of various territories.

There is no place to leverage control to resolve the situation.

No policy on drug legalization or war on drugs can solve this.

Build the wall!
Enforce E-verify!

How has the situation become quite so bad?

Massive amounts of drug money supporting violence against the forces of good government and judicial order. Money beats law enforcement every time!

Wrong. The corruption by money is already quietly influencing politics, law enforcement and the judiciary. It is just kept quiet because the money talks so quietly and powerfully. There is no need for violence at this time.

Cut off the drugs and really enforce the laws and watch the violence escalate off the charts.

Can we now call Mexico a failed state? On our border.

Yes. Don’t you think Mexico is really a failed state where corrupt government allows both the drugs and the violence to fluorish.

How did the gun violence get so bad in Mexico? Obamas gun running State Department fast and furious operation had something to do with that. Funny that the violence in Syria was fueled by Obama’s gun running State Department Bengazi operations.

Yes I am ashamed of what America has done in leftist hands.

Mexico’s government is, and has been for sometimes a criminal enterprise masquerading as a legitimate government. This is one reason we need to build a wall. We do not want the values imbued in this kleptocracy infecting our own already dangerously feral government.
