.....women have marched in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, continuing a wave of protests against the rule of President Nicolas Maduro.
The women, dressed in white and led by opposition MP's, denounced what they consider repression by security forces.
The US has also expressed concern about what UN ambassador Nikki Haley called a "violent crackdown".
At least 36 people have died and hundreds have been injured in weeks of protests.
In a statement, Ms. Haley accused Mr. Maduro of "disregard for the fundamental rights of his own people", which she said had "heightened the political and economic crisis in the country."
Meanwhile the White House said President Trump's national security advisor HR McMaster on Friday met Julio Borges, the president of Venezuela's opposition controlled National Assembly.
They discussed the need for the Venezuelan government to release political prisoners and hold free and democratic elections, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said.
Earlier a young man was shot dead in violence in the city of Valencia. In Caracas an armored vehicle was caught on video plunging into protesters....

The White House says it is watching the situation in Venezuela.
Tear gas attacks are a daily occurrence in Venezuela, do they all add up to be as serious as a "poison gas" attack in Syria?
President Trump met with Lillian Tintori who's political prisoner husband Leopoldo Lopez has not seen visitors since the massive demonstrations began. Trump back in February tweeted for the release of Lopez.
Looking ahead to May 18th, President Trump will meet President Santos of Colombia where Venezuela will be discussed.
Hundreds of thousands of refugees are moving to flee starvation in Venezuela across the border into Colombia.
236-thousand from January to April.
And I would be remiss if I did not say I hope that President Trump and his administration take note of prisoners in this country like Jerry DeLemus, co-chair of Veterans for Trump in New Hampshire last year, currently jailed in Nevada over the 2014 Bunkerville Standoff.
There are other prisoners including Ammon Bundy who was beaten and chained by guards in a shower stall for 13 hours five days ago at the Nevada Southern Detention Center, a privately owned prison used by the federal government.
When women marched in Maracay, Venezuela yesterday, tear gas was fired on them.

This would all end quickly if the military officers who took the “socialism or death” oath were made to understand in no uncertain terms that they personally will be held accountable for Maduro’s crimes.
There are stories that military officers have been jailed for not supporting the government.
I’ve read that the military has people peppered in the ranks who are informers. I would also assume Cuban officers or officials overseeing the government in Venezuela as well.
Its been the assumption of people who live in Venezuela that they are in many ways a “colony” of Cuba as this point.
Its a real all out Communist state down there and there’s plenty of denial about that because most people don’t understand or recognize Communism.
That won’t end until the Cubans are removed...
Good, but communist dictators remain in office and destroy their countries.
That would be nice. When the point of no return arrives declare the country a no-fly-zone. Don’t allow the Cubans to leave. Let them do their own justice. Cuba will follow suit.
They need to be wearing p***y hats. No one will take them seriously if they arent wearing p***y hats.
I would arm them and send them back!
Did they die or were they killed?
They would vote for the next commie if promised a loaf of bread.
The MSM is in denial and does not want to provide a narrative that a government is killing its own people, much less call that government by its proper name, “Communist”.
