I thought that robots were going to put millions out of work? If that is true, why do we need more foreign workers?

And Ron Johnson ran as a Tea Party candidate.

As Alice Cooper taught us, Milwaukee has elected three Socialist Mayors.

I think there’s a lot of truth on both sides of this issue. Most people here would be alarmed at the number of able-bodied Americans who are incapable of holding a job.

See my posts #8 and #20. We have a huge surplus of labor yet we continue to import 1.7 million legal immigrants every year (includes guest workers) and hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens entering the workforce annually. Where are the jobs? And who is getting them?

Why not? They just passed a democratic budget, why not pass a democratic amnesty bill? All this winning is really getting boring, just as we were told it would.

Good question. And automation is eliminating plenty of jobs along with offshoring our manufacturing.

Your charts and graphs do not lie.

This is all about DEPRESSING WAGES for the benefit of the donors who contribute to Johnson’s campaigns.

Anyone familiar with the fall of Rome should realize how dangerous this approach really is.

Rome self-destructed because of a variety of phenomena. But what it added up to, was the actual "Roman" population declined to about 10% of the total inhabitants. Dependent upon foreign mercenaries; foreign workers, and cosmopolitan hangers on, it was a culturally conflicted mess.

This aspect is often ignored, in recent times, because of the strictures of the "politically Correct" mindset. But neither individuals nor genetic variations are interchangeable; and pretending that they are, for rationalized convenience, ultimately serves the interest of no one but demagogues & scoundrels.

PING!!!

Article and comments, esp Graphics at #8 & #20

The two are:
Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson
Colorado GOP Rep. Ken Buck

The Buck-Johnson replacement bill would:

-amplify the federal government’s employee importation policies.

-create an amnesty, because the visas could be given to 11 million plus illegals living in the United States, including those who returned to the United States after being deported.

-The bill has 50 co-sponsors and is formally titled the “State Sponsored Visa Pilot Program of 2017.”

From Article:

In January, Trump emphasized that his administration’s mantra is “Buy American, Hire American.” Since then, he has sharply reduced illegal immigration and has proposed popular plans to reform legal immigration and the contract-worker programs.

In his Wednesday statement, Johnson spoke at length about the “new plague [of opioid addiction] in our country,” and quoted from an article describing the huge extent of worker drop out amid the post-2008 combination punch of recession and mass-immigration.

[ ]

and he cited Medicaid’s distribution of free opioids throughout much of the country.

Thanks, Rockitz

It’s likely that some of them got into the drugs after having been out of work for awhile. Also, stop paying able-bodied people to stay home and you’ll have a few more employees. They may, however, have to be trained on how to hold a job and what’s expected.

That’s the same legislation
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3549913/posts
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/may/3/bill-envisions-guest-worker-programs-foreigners/

Sen. Ron Johnson’s legislation would allow states to adapt guest-worker programs to their own local economic needs, rather than wait on federal officials.

[ ]

Rep. Ken Buck, Colorado Republican, said he’s writing another version in the House. He said some states are already working on programs, should they get permission from the federal government.

So which does Johnson think happened first: opioid addiction increases or the unemployment?

My solution: put people back to work - don’t give anyone a cause to continue being idle and addicted.

(Never mind that this is a gigantic crock to begin with)

to replace Americans who have fallen out of the workforce and into drug addiction

I think many of the men who fall into drug addiction, do so BECAUSE they can't find a job, or at least any job that would allow them to attract a wife.
