If a shut down is good for September, it is good for May.

Yup do it now.

If the posts on this thread are any indication, what’s wanted is a Venezuela style strongman, not a President.

And now Jim DeMint has been freed from his contract at Heritage to take his transition team to the WH grounds to write that budget starting today. And, of course, any legislation POTUS wants written.

“Our country needs a good ‘shutdown’ in September to fix mess!”

Amen!
>

Why put off ‘til tomorrow that which you can do, easier, today? His biz was going down, he’s going to wait 6mo. before attempting to right the ship?? As I bizman, I think that rings a bit hollow. Only in politics does one wait for the next dead-line before attempting to jam any POS through.

You have ‘em by the short-hairs, them give ‘em everything AND more?? Let alone spending $M on a ‘new’ POS *fence* when it’s going to be a WALL?? Red flag #2.

As, yes, 3-dimensional chess..blah blah blah. Sorry, not buying it.

My guess is that he is running into stiff opposition from the quisling Republicans led by Paul Ryan. And he is improvising. I’d find it unlikely that he has changed his goals, that doesn’t fit his personality.

No, unlike lee he is picking the battle of his choosing and not the enemy’s. No pickets charge here, he wants to win.

BS, Why didn’t he just call their bluff now. Sorry, I just don’t get why he isn’t taking the offensive. Very disappointing. Call both Republicans and Democrats to heel. in 6 months he may be able.

I like what you have there.
Unfortunately if I remember this right the USSOC took away the ability of the President to impound funds (Not spend on legislated actions.) back in the Nixon era.

So he’s basically saying that the Congress, in spite of everything they say, have no intention of passing a budget between now and then.

Do you even know what a Fiscal Year is?

There hasn’t been a real budget submitted and passed by Congress since the middle of the last decade.

All we have had is these Continual Resolutions that push government to the brink, get people riled up, let consultants and “strategists” get on news shows to spew their bile about how evil Republicans are.

This CR expires at the end of the Fiscal Year. Then Trump can present a budget to Congress that prioritizes his agenda, not the Left’s.

If the Dems threaten shutdown, then let them. Let them pound sand while Trump can explain to the American people how we need to go back to balanced budgets.
>

Wow. Why knew the Pres. had such powers!?

Trump could submit every wish list he wanted. Congress has NO compulsion to pass ANYTHING. Trump’s budget would be ‘for reference only’ and not a damn thing, outside of a veto, he could do.

He can explain ‘til the cows come home, but the media\DEMs will harp EVERY second of any threat that might have teeth. Add in the dickless cowards in the ‘leadership’ and it’s pretty much a guaranteed done deal.

Lastly, the whole procrastination stinks to high heaven for someone whom touts himself a biz man. When if biz is going down, one doesn’t wait months to right and mitigate the damage!!

All the peckerwoods in D.C. could fight for ANY ‘savings’ or ‘cuts’...they’ll just *have to do* w/ a measly $1T (99% unconstitutional spending). But, they’re going to grow a pair in Sept?

R-I-G-H-T

If he signs this budget, his credibility is gone. Reagan established himself with the air traffic controllers firings. Trump could call in Ryan and McConnell and tell them he is going to Florida after he vetoes this terrible budget and they can call him when he needs to come back to sign a decent budget. Everyone in congress would understand at that point who the President is. Signing this budget will be a sign of terminal weakness that will destroy his chances for success. And don’t try to tell me September will be any different, I wasn’t born yesterday.

The problem as I see it, is RINO (If he’s even Republican) Ryan and the Turtle (Save Gorsuch)! Change in leadership in both houses is what’s needed. And, now! Regardless of what Rush says!

Dont worry. Just 3.5 more years of liberal agenda and Im sure Lucy wont pull away the football in Trumps second term.

We just need to keep mindlessly chanting “LOCK HER UP, BUILD THE WALL, REPEAL ZEROCARE” and Im sure the RINOs will be on board by 2024.

Its all part of the 8D chess reverse psychology long game Trump is playing.

Like he said today: the budget is a huge win for the American people bringing us all together. Both sides couldnt be more pleased.

Right?

Then why is he claiming all sorts of credit for this one?

Bing Freaking O !

If he came out and said, this is a $hit sandwich, but I'm not gonna shut the government down, and I'm gonna give congress (GOP) 4 months to craft my budget EXACTLY the way I want it, I might stew, but low simmer only.

Coming out and telling me it's raining while you know what is going on IS QUITE ANOTHER THING.

That’s nice. He was good at tough talk during the campaign, too. Right now he looks like Ryan and Pelosi’s btich.

But that IS what’s happened. DJT has brought DeMint in to craft his budget and legislation. K-Street is in the past.

Why didn’t he just call their bluff now.

I'd rather have a shutdown now, but I'll settle for one in September.

"There will be no wall, no tax reform, no high paying jobs, no nothing. Just continued corruption, cultural decline and a country where white men will continue to lose their way of life."

Even though you're a Freeper veteran of two whole years I think you protest too much, madame.

Are you unaware of major improvements to a significant portion of the existing wall funded by this CR? Are you unaware of Trumps tax reform proposal? I know we've just passed a whole 100 days and all...are you mad he hasn't completed his agenda 50 days ago? Are you unaware of the improvements in new jobs over the last 3 months? And when you bring up "white men" comment that make me pretty damn sure you are nothing more than a liberal troll. And yes, I'm sharing this with the mods.
